    An NHS 111 phone service which was claimed to be failing patients is "safe and effective", a health watchdog has found.

    An undercover newspaper journalist, external recorded a worker at a call centre in Bicester saying staff had all "killed someone indirectly".

    The Care Quality Commission, external found South Central Ambulance Service had suitable systems to monitor safety.

  4. 'Cost implications' for Great Western electrification delaypublished at 09:29

    The delays to the electrification of the Great Western railway line will have cost implications, according to Network Rail.

    Julian Burnell, from Network Rail, says they're not in much better position to define when they will be able to complete the work.

    A Banbury man sought by police after failing to appear at Oxford Crown Court has been found in Bicester, external.

    David Farnell was remanded in custody to appear at court this morning.

    In November he had been charged with causing death while driving without due care and attention, while over the prescribed limit and causing death while uninsured.

    A 25-year-old man, of no fixed address, has been charged with one count of attempted robbery and one count of wounding with intent after a suspected armed robbery at an Oxford shop on Wednesday.

    He was also charged with one count of threatening a person with a blade in a public place, and one count of racially aggravated public order.

    He has been remanded in custody to appear at Oxford Magistrates' Court today.

    That's westbound between the B4150 at Marston and the Cutteslowe roundabout.

  8. 'Contaminated' recycling on the risepublished at 08:21

    Hundreds of tonnes of recycling is being rejected in the region, because people are throwing items in the wrong bin.

    Contamination is a huge problem for waste management companies and some local firms are now manually going through recycling to take out items that shouldn't be there.
