    Stimulating the brain with electrical current can help boost recovery after a stroke, research from the University of Oxford suggests.

    The team found patients who were given electrical stimulation alongside rehabilitation sessions fared better than people given rehab alone.

    Volunteers who had the electrical treatment saw greater improvements when moving their arms, and some found it easier to do everyday tasks.

    The pledges in the Budget announced yesterday could "unravel" as the small print and its impact is better understood, according to Oxford East MP Andrew Smith.

    Oxfordshire's only Labour MP said he welcomed some features, but there was no help for disabled people or working families on lower incomes, and no policies to tackle the housing crisis in an "unfair Budget".

    Large equipment and crews started arriving yesterday, according to police and the Health and Safety Executive.

    One person died and five were injured after half of the decommissioned Didcot A plant collapsed more than three weeks ago.
