    Shrewsbury Cathedral Catholic Primary School is out of special measures. 

    Ofsted inspectors said the acting head teacher Kerrie Lewis, Interim Executive Board, Shropshire Council and Diocese of Shrewsbury had successfully addressed the weaknesses that previously caused the school's decline.

  4. Power station: Small team to stay on after closurepublished at 17:22

    At full capacity, more than 400 people worked at Ironbridge Power Station, which closed this afternoon. 

    A small team will stay on to remove fixtures and fittings, including a large mosaic, created nearly 50 years ago by pupils at St Martins Secondary Modern. The mosaic will be returned to the school.

    The site's future will be decided when the decommissioning process is complete, which is due to run until early 2017.

    Hospital bosses in Shropshire say they've carried out a full investigation after removing the wrong lump from a patient's body. 

    The so called "never event" took place earlier this year, when an incorrect skin lesion or growth was removed from a patient's body. 

    Director of nursing at the Shrewsbury and Telford hospital trust Sarah Bloomfield says they've apologised for the isolated event and taken significant steps to ensure it doesn't happen again.

    In Shropshire, 46 people are on the waiting list for a transplant. Twenty one have been waiting for more than two years.
