    People in Herefordshire, mainly along the River Wye, are being warned there could be more flooding today.

    There are five flood warnings, meaning flooding is expected, along the waterway in the county with three covering Hereford., external

    The Environment Agency said it was seeing the impact of heavy rain earlier this week and river levels were still rising.

    Herefordshire Council's said , externalthe A438 in both directions at Letton is closed due to flooding.

    We're not seeing the same flooding we saw a fortnight ago, but there's still a lot of water sitting on the fields and a lot of grey clouds about.

    These photos were taken by BBC Weather Watchers in Worcestershire's Lower Broadheath, and Rushbury and Shrewsbury, in Shropshire.

  5. Coronavirus: Shropshire patient self-isolatingpublished at 15:28 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2020

    A person who has tested positive for Covid-19 in Shropshire is self isolating at home, according to a joint statement from Public Health England and Shropshire Council.

    The patient from Shropshire became infected while traveling in Italy, it said.

    Drive-through testing centres are to be set up across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin - with the local NHS trust also carrying out home testing.

    A local resilience partnership has also been set up to co-ordinate plans and prepare for any changes in the situation.

    Plans for 100 homes near Oswestry's iron age hill fort have been dropped by Galliers Homes.

    The company had submitted an application houses on land Shropshire Council had set aside for development off Whittington Road.

    It argued the development would have no impact on the ancient monument and that “there simply are no better sites available in or adjoining Oswestry”.

    More than 150 objections were lodged with the council and the town's Prehistoric Society said: “The current proposals clearly impact upon the setting of the monument and will diminish the impact it makes within its landscape by restricting the ability to view it clearly."

    It hasn't been explained why the plans were withdrawn.

  7. Flood warning for Severn after heavy overnight rainpublished at 11:54 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2020

    A flood warning has been issued for the River Severn in north-west Shropshire, close to where it meets the River Vyrnwy.

    The Environment Agency has also issued a flood alert for the River Severn through the rest of the county, saying it's because of heavy overnight rain in Wales, where the two rivers start.

    Plans for Shrewsbury's proposed north west relief road go on display today, in the first of a series of exhibitions.

    The seven-mile bypass is expected to cost £70m and would form a link over the top of the town, from the A5 to the west to Ellesmere Road in the north.

    Climate campaigners have complained it will do nothing to reduce the town's carbon emissions and will encourage more people to drive.

    Today's exhibition is at the Emmanuel Church, in Mount Pleasant, between 14:00 and 20:00 GMT and you can also view the plans online.

  9. Road reopens three weeks after flood barriers went uppublished at 09:51 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2020

    The Wharfage, in Ironbridge, is now fully open to traffic again, three weeks after flood barriers went up.

    Workers had to repair the road surface and the pavement after the barriers were pushed back several metres by the force of the River Severn.

    The barriers gouged the tarmac and were pushed right back against some of the properties along the Wharfage, which had to be evacuated as a precaution.

    A cafe owner says he's back in business despite his building facing a lengthy refurbishment after widespread flooding.

    Chris Harrison runs the Dale End Cafe in Coalbrookdale in the Ironbridge Gorge in Shropshire.

    Last month, several storms caused river levels to rise dramatically and flood the cafe twice in less than two days.

    Chris told BBC Shropshire: "Since the cafe shut, we haven't had any income through no fault of our own, through the cafe being flooded so I stuck a plea out saying 'has anybody got a catering trailer lying about?'"

    He's now taken up one offer from a local businessman and started operating from a mobile catering truck on the site while the cafe's revamped.

    A couple on board a coronavirus-hit cruise ship say they don't expect to leave for several days, despite the ship finally being due to dock today.

    Nineteen crew members and two passengers on the Grand Princess have tested positive for Covid-19.

    The vessel is carrying about 3,500 people from 54 countries and has been held off the coast for four days.

    Linda Stennett, from Shrewsbury, is on the ship with her husband and told BBC Shropshire they weren't expecting to disembark immediately.

    "We know when we dock that the Americans will be getting off first and that is going to take, they reckon, two to three days, and I think we are after that, hopefully," she said.

    A college has said students who have come back from a ski trip to northern Italy don't have to self-isolate despite the coronavirus outbreak affecting the country.

    Up to 16 million people in northern Italy now need permission to travel under quarantine rules.

    The Shrewsbury Colleges Group said, external the pupils' trip took place in the Valle D'Aosta region, 120 miles away from the areas currently in lockdown.

    It added the group travelled by coach to the resort, avoiding crowded airports, and that Public Health England had advised people did not need to self-isolate unless they felt ill.

    Thousands of schoolchildren will take part in knife crime workshops in Telford this month with the Knife Angel sculpture visiting the town.

    The artwork was unveiled in Southwater Square last week and will be on show until 29 March.

    The 27ft (8m) sculpture is made from 100,000 blades supplied by police forces across the country and has been on tour, including visiting Liverpool and Coventry.

    Telford and Wrekin Council said, external more than 2,000 pupils would take part in the workshops on visiting the Knife Angel and learn about the effects of knife crime.

    The BBC Weather Watchers have been out capturing images of last night's moon.

    The second supermoon of the year - known as a worm moon - is set to light up the skies tonight.

    A supermoon is a full moon which appears brighter and closer to the Earth than usual and it occurs when the moon is closest to the Earth during its orbit.

    These were taken in Leek, Staffordshire by Z70; in Southam, Warwickshire by Little Acorns and Ludlow, Shropshire by Foggy.
