    Coronavirus vaccinations have begun for the over-70s at Ludlow Racecourse.

    The first person to be vaccinated today was 72-year-old Malcolm Bunn from the Shropshire town.

    The retired Severn Trent Water technician said he was looking forward to going on a cruise with his wife once the pandemic is over.

    A vaccination centre also opened earlier at the Bucks Head stadium in Wellington.

    The New Bucks Head football ground, in Wellington, is the latest venue in Shropshire to start vaccinating people against the coronavirus.

    Dozens of people were waiting for the doors to open at the AFC Telford United ground earlier.

    Malkiat Singh, 76, was among the first patients to receive the vaccination.

    Club chairman Andy Pryce said the decision to get involved in the programme was an easy one.

    "We are a community club, everything we do is community-based," he said, "it's great to see it in operation this morning."

    A centre has also opened at Ludlow racecourse.

    Rates of coronavirus are dropping across the whole of the West Midlands, figures show.

    The rate for the whole region stands at 350.4 cases per 100,000 people - the second highest in England.

    This is down from 528.5 the previous week.

    Wolverhampton has shown the largest drop down from 790.2 to 484.1.

    Sandwell, which currently has the third highest rate in England, fell from 875.3 to 574.8.

    A weather warning for snow on Saturday, external has been updated, and now only affects parts of Shropshire, Warwickshire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

    However new warnings have been issued , externalthat will affect the whole of the region from 21:00 on Monday through to Wednesday evening.

    About 5 to 10cm of snow is expected on higher areas, said the Met Office.

    Flood warnings have been issued for parts of the West Midlands after an "unhelpful" 15-20mm of rain fell overnight, the Environment Agency says.

    It's caused "significant" flash flooding in Worcestershire in particular, according to the agency's Dave Throup.

    The county was already dealing with major flooding that hit at the weekend.

    A sex worker has said she's had no choice but to carry on working during the coronavirus pandemic - putting her health and the health of others at risk.

    The Shropshire woman, who doesn't want to be identified, said she looked for ways to diversify her business and go online, but she was worried it compromised her privacy.

    She said running an erotic phone line didn't earn her enough money to live.

    She said she'd been forced to move to a cheaper flat because of her loss of earnings and was having to meet clients at her home, because hotels were closed.

    The support group The English Collective of Prostitutes has called for sex workers to be given financial support from government.
