    York band Glass Caves have started to make a living from playing on streets around the UK.

    The four-piece have admitted to the BBC they were "petrified" when they first went busking in 2011.

    "We didn't know if people were going to throw stuff or boo us," says singer Matt Hallas. 

    "But we made a reasonable amount. "We looked at each other and thought 'we're onto something here'."

    Six year on, they've self-funded their debut album and a UK tour through busking but it hasn't come without its challenges.

    More on the news that a man has been seriously hurt in a shooting in Leeds.

    Police have just confirmed to us that it happened at about 13:20 yesterday afternoon at a barber's shop in Gathorne Terrace, Chapeltown.

    Emergency crews attended the scene and found a man who was seriously injured and he was taken to hospital for treatment.

    A Sheffield businessman is proposing an area of the city be turned into a "red light zone", which he says could rival the nightlife of European cities like Amsterdam.

    David Slater, from the Attercliffe Action Group, is concerned about the sex trade in that area.

    • Heavy traffic on the M62 eastbound at J24, A629 (Ainley Top)
    • Heavy traffic on the A64 Seamer Road in both directions in Scarborough at the Hinderwell Road junction in the roadworks area
