    Earlier we told you about the delays on the trains.

    Well I'm afraid they've just got that little bit worse if you're travelling in either direction between York and Leeds, because all services have now been suspended because of signal failure at Church Fenton.

    Time to call the boss and let him or her know you're going to be late!

    There's a new call for bus drivers to do more to help disabled passengers after a woman from Wakefield was told there wasn't enough room for her wheelchair. 

    Earlier this month, the Supreme Court ruled drivers need to be more accommodating. 

    But just days later, Kirsty Shepherd was told she couldn't get on a bus from Rothwell to Wakefield because there was already a buggy on board. 

    When she challenged the driver he made everyone get off and told all the passengers it was her fault:

    Problems if you're letting the train take the strain in parts of Yorkshire this morning.

    The departure boards at both York, external and Leeds, external are showing plenty of delays. 

    We're being told it's because of a problem with signals at Church Fenton.

    Fans at a rugby league game were treated to a flight of fancy when an unexpected visitor disrupted the game.

    Play was stopped during Keighley v Bradford friendly to remove a goose from the pitch!

    Well it could only last so long couldn't it. Surprise, surprise, as more of you start to leave the house and head to work, we're getting news of a few pinch points on Yorkshire's roads.

    These are the first delays of the week:

    • Heavy traffic on the A1 northbound at the junction with the A639/ A6021 near Doncaster
    • Heavy traffic on the A1(M) southbound carriageway at J36
    • Heavy traffic on the A61 Harrogate Road at Harewood
    • Heavy traffic on the A59 at Blubberhouses due to roadworks as you try to make your way towards Skipton

    Over the last few weeks, much has been said about Scarborough's historic Futurist Theatre; should it be knocked down or should it be saved?

    This morning, BBC Radio York are hearing from people who live close to the seafront building who are worried about the decision to demolish it.

    They fear that if the cliffs behind the Futurist become unstable, their homes could go as well:

    It's been a busy weekend for many of our football teams, with one in particular making the headlines for all the wrong reasons. Step forward Leeds United who lead our sports bulletins this morning:

    • Leeds United head coach Garry Monk took the blame for their shock FA Cup exit yesterday, losing 1-0 away to non-league Sutton United. Monk made 10 changes against the lowest-ranked team left in the competition
    • Rotherham United manager Paul Warne says he hopes to have at least two new signings before the transfer deadline tomorrow night
    • York City's battle to avoid relegation from the National League is very much alive and kicking according to manager Gary Mills. The Minstermen drew 0-0 away to promotion contenders Aldershot to make it just one defeat in their last eight games

    If you have a Leeds fan near you, take it easy on them this morning.

  8. Traffic and Travel: Congestion as rush hour beginspublished at 07:08 Greenwich Mean Time 30 January 2017

    First hour of the Monday rush and here we go:

    On the A59 in North Yorkshire there's congestion between Hall Lane End and Kex Gill Road, West End.

    In West Yorkshire on the A629 there's a lot of traffic at the junction of the A643 Lindley Moor Road in Huddersfield.

    Meanwhile on the M62 the traffic  is building up at junction 22.

    In South Yorkshire traffic is building up on the A61 at Westwood New Road, Tankersley.

    So although it's Monday morning, your journey in to work, especially if you're setting off early, should be a reasonably stress-free one.
