    If you see a load of people wondering about on the moors in the dark tonight, don't be alarmed. A special wildlife walk is taking place!

    Infrared technology is being used to allow those taking part to see the night wildlife on the North Yorkshire Moors. 

    The national park was recently given Dark Skies status, because of it's darkness - and there'll be a festival to celebrate this next month. 

  11. Council tax could rise by a further 1% to pay for adult social care in Leedspublished at 17:43 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2017

    If you live in Leeds, the amount of council tax you pay, already increasing by almost 4%, could be going up by almost 5%.

    Leeds City Council says it may make the rise after the government said that councils would be allowed to increase the maximum they can charge by a further 1%, meaning you pay 4.99% more.

    The rise is to help pay for adult social care, which many cash-strapped councils around the country are struggling to pay for with rising, older populations.

  15. Boy headbutted at Doncaster bus stoppublished at 17:04 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2017

    A 14-year-old boy was headbutted at a bus stop this morning in Hexthorpe, Doncaster.

    It happened on Urban Road at about 08:30 when a passer-by assaulted the boy, made some threats and then walked off. 

    He is described as being in his 40s, of thin build, wearing a long khaki poncho, green and brown camouflage trousers and a hat under a hood.

    The boy received a minor head injury that didn't require hospital treatment.

  16. Trump petition to be debated by MPspublished at 16:48 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2017

    A petition to stop Donald Trump's state visit to the UK, started by a solicitor in Leeds, is to be debated by MPs on 20 February.

    More than 1.6 million people have signed it, after Mr Trump's controversial immigration ban on people from seven, mainly Muslim countries. 

    Meanwhile 70 MPs including Bradford West's Naz Shah, have signed a Commons motion, calling for the US President to be banned from addressing Parliament during his planned visit to the UK.

    Earlier we were telling you about a former soldier in Leeds who says that he's suffered a loss of dignity following cuts in his care by the city council.

    Adult Social Services in the city have just confirmed that he will not have his previous care regime reinstated.

    Adam Douglas has had his care provision halved, meaning that he no longer gets help to get ready for work in the morning. 

    Adam was seriously injured by a rocket propelled grenade while serving in Iraq in 2003. He is paralysed from the waist down and he also has problems with his heart, kidneys and bladder.  

  18. MP: Sick youngsters brought to Yorkshire for treatment getting 'third class ticket'published at 16:23 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2017

    The MP for Bassettlaw, Nottinghamshire - John Mann - says children in his constituency are being let down because of a shortage of doctors at the town's hospital.

    The eight-week-old German Shepherd puppies have just had their first round of injections, and will now be paired with their puppy walkers to begin the journey to becoming fully-fledged police dogs.

    South Yorkshire Police have confirmed that 3,000 people turned out for last night's demo outside Sheffield Town Hall, to protest over President Trump's travel ban.

    More than seventy MPs - including six from South Yorkshire - are calling for Mr Trump to be stopped from addressing parliament if he comes to the UK.
