    There are fears more banks could disappear from North Yorkshire's towns. 

    The Rural Services Network says low footfall is making them a target to be axed. 

    There have been 17 bank closures in North Yorkshire in the last two years with a further eight due to shut their doors by the end of this year. 

    Kirbymoorside will be left without a bank when HSBC closes in June. Town Councillor Chris Dowie is dismayed:

    UKIP MEP Jane Collins (pictured) is expected to be ordered to pay tens of thousands of pounds in damages to Rotherham's three MPs.

    A High Court Judge ruled last year that Ms Collins had falsely claimed Sarah Champion, John Healey and Sir Kevin Baron stood back and did nothing despite knowing all about the serious sexual assaults on hundreds of young girls in the town.    

  4. Traffic and travel: Rush hour beginning to build uppublished at 07:06 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2017

    Rush hour traffic is beginning to build up now.

    On Gaisby Lane at Frizinghall in Bradford congestion is being reported.

    Meanwhile on the A59 in North Yorkshire there's heavy traffic at Blubberhouses in the area where roadworks are being carried out.

    And the Ainley Top junction on the M62 (J24) is showing slow traffic.

    At Brook Hill in Sheffield there's some congestion.

    A man's due to appear in court later charged with the murder of a 19-year-old in Leeds

    Raheem Wilks (pictured) - the brother of Leeds Utd player Mallik Wilks - was shot outside a barber's shop in Harehills last week. 

    Keal Richards, 21, will appear before magistrates in the city.

    Sheffield Wednesday striker Lucas Joao (pictured) has joined Blackburn Rovers on loan for the rest of the season with his team-mate Modou Sougou also expected to leave Hillsborough on loan today.

    Leeds United are set to complete a loan move with a view to a permanent deal for 20-year-old Villareal winger Alfonso Pedraza.

    York City manager Gary Mills has highlighted the work-rate and know-how of striker Amari Morgan-Smith, following their 0-0 draw at Aldershot - their fourth game without defeat.
