    Staffordshire Police says it reviews every single use of Tasers, after figures showed officers pulled the electric stun device 285 times, external in 2015.

    The Home Office statistics reveal that, of those deployments, they were discharged 34 times - whereas in neighbouring Cheshire Tasers were drawn 140 times in 2015 and discharged 14 times.

    Staffordshire Police, external says use of the electric stun weapon has fallen compared to the year before.

    Stoke-on-Trent's Phil Taylor slipped to a surprise defeat by Peter Wright in Birmingham in the Premier League.

    Taylor's 7-4 loss was followed by an impressive 7-1 win for world number one Michael Van Gerwen over James Wade.  

    Four players - Gary Anderson, Adrian Lewis, Wade and Wright - can all still claim one of the remaining two spots in the play-offs.

    Milton Road in Burslem is blocked in both directions between the Noblett Road junction and the Ralph Drive junction because of an accident.

    Train passengers are being warned to expect more disruption this bank holiday weekend as "finishing touches" are made to a £250m project between Stafford and Crewe., external

    A new flyover was constructed in March at Norton Bridge as part of the investment on that part of the West Coast main line.

    Network Rail says it will have engineers working this weekend at Stafford to "consolidate" the upgrade.

    As a result, the organisation says lines will be partially closed for works from 30 April to 7 May and urges passengers to check before travelling.
