    Barrow have signed midfielder Paul Turnbull on a 12-month contract after he turned down a new deal at fellow National League side Macclesfield Town.

    Turnbull, 27, captained the Silkmen last season and will join the Bluebirds on a free transfer once his current deal expires on 30 June.

    The former Stockport academy player made 39 appearances for Macclesfield last season, scoring once.

    The office of River Canal Rescue that was destroyed by an explosion at a fireworks warehouse in Stafford 18 months ago will reopen today.

    The company has been working out of temporary premises since the explosion at nearby SP Fireworks, on the Baswich industrial estate.

    The new premises have taken 17 months to rebuild and cost £260,000.

    It's a special day for rail history fans in Cheshire today - the Flying Scotsman is in Crewe.

    The famous steam train's spent the night in the town at the heritage centre, external for "servicing purposes".  

    Barrie Sayers was among those who paid a visit yesterday and he shared this picture - we'll have more as the Flying Scotsman leaves the area later today.
