  4. Ambulance staff may wear cameras after rise in assaultspublished at 09:48 British Summer Time 24 August 2016

    Paramedics in the West Midlands could be given body cameras after an increase in attacks when they're on duty.

    Ambulances have already been fitted with CCTV to record offenders.

    Almost 300 members of staff were physically assaulted, external across the region last year.

  5. Rock legend Lemmy to get statuepublished at 09:20 British Summer Time 24 August 2016

    A life-size statue of the late Motorhead frontman Lemmy will be unveiled at one of Los Angeles' most famous bars. 

    Burslem-born Lemmy died in December, aged 70, after being diagnosed with cancer.

    A 6ft bronze sculpture of the rock legend is being installed at the Rainbow Bar and Grill on West Hollywood's Sunset Strip. 

    Members of Motorhead are expected to join fans for today's unveiling of the monument, which was built after a crowd-funding campaign raised more than £16,000.

    A Staffordshire mum has told BBC Radio Stoke she is facing a fear of heights in order to buy her disabled son a new bed. 

    Jillian Reeves from Sandyford, Stoke-on-Trent, is aiming to raise £5,000 in order to buy special equipment , externalfor her 19-year-old son Daniel.

    She says he suffered a severe spinal injury after being hit by a car when he was four and needs a specialist bed. 

    A bed provided by the NHS when he was discharged in 2002 keeps breaking, Jillian said.

    A man and a woman have been seriously hurt in a crash in Tamworth that saw two air ambulances called , externalto the scene.

    West Midlands Ambulance Service says two cars collided on Bonehill Road at around 11:15 this morning - a driver and passenger in one car were trapped. 

    A spokesperson said the male driver suffered multiple serious injuries and the woman had "numerous fractures". Both were airlifted to hospital after being cut free.

    Speaking at a press conference after the Team GB plane landed at Heathrow, he also said he'd gone to Rio wanting to win Britain's first swimming gold in 28 years.

    Peaty's told the BBC that, now Rio 2016 is over, he is off to California to celebrate his success.
