    Strong man Eddie Hall, from Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, has spent the past few days competing in the World's Strongest Man contest, external in Botswana.

    The clean up for the 21st V Festival is under way this morning.

    Tens of thousands of people flocked to Weston Park to see some of the biggest artists over the last three days.

    Organisers say it was a great weekend.

    We sent our reporter Les to check on the usually busy traffic situation outside Weston Park this morning. 

    Traditionally the main routes surrounding the park, including the A5, A41 and A449 are busy with festival-goers making their way home after the V Festival. 

    But it wasn't bad at all.

  7. New £2.1m cancer unit to openpublished at 09:50 British Summer Time 22 August 2016

    A new cancer unit is being opened at Stafford's County Hospital today, external.

    The University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust says £2.1m has been spent on transforming the former children's ward which shut last year.

    A spokesperson says it will treat people with a range of cancers including Leukaemia, Lymphoma and Myeloma.

    The Staffordshire swimmer has two of those with gold in the men's 100m breaststroke and silver in the 4x100m relay. 

    The Rio Olympics ended last night with a spectacular carnival-inspired closing ceremony, and the official handover to 2020 hosts Tokyo. 

    Speaking at last night's closing ceremony Peaty told the BBC that Team GB can only get stronger.

    People living on a Stoke-on-Trent housing estate say children's lives are being put at risk by boy racers and speeding drivers. 

    Residents in Norton Heights have filmed cars racing at night on narrow streets and say commuters use it as a rat run.

    The city council says average speeds on the road aren't excessive and specific issues should be reported to the police. 

    But the area's councillor says more could be done.

  11. M6 near Wolverhampton and Walsall reopens after fatal crashpublished at 08:56 British Summer Time 22 August 2016

    The M6 motorway between Wolverhampton and Walsall has reopened after a fatal crash.

    One person died when a car, a van pulling a trailer and a lorry crashed between junctions 10 and 10a on Sunday at about 15:00.

    Major repair work was needed to the motorway surface with leaking fuel suspected to have caused damage, said West Midlands Police.

    The road was closed for about 15 hours with tailbacks to junction 7.
