    Crewe Alexandra have announced this lunchtime that winger Alex Kiwomya's loan from Chelsea's now been extended until the end of the season. , external

    The 20-year-old joined on loan in July and has scored seven goals in 25 appearances for the Alex but his deal was due to expire today. 

    Crewe say Chelsea have agreed today to let him stay at Gresty Road for the rest of the season.

    We heard over the weekend that Crewe Alexandra had sacked Steve Davis after more than five years as manager and replaced him with David Artell. 

    Now for Artell, it won't be an easy job for him - the 36-year-old doesn't have a lot of coaching experience, despite a long playing career.

    However he's well respected around the club as he captained them to promotion to League One in 2012, but his backroom role at Crewe has largely been an administrative one as the Academy Operations Manager. 

    It's interesting this isn't a caretaker or short-term appointment - the club's statement made it quite clear he's the permanent choice.

    A father from the Staffordshire Moorlands says he fears for his and his children's safety because of the speed of traffic outside a Leek school. 

    Rob Bond, a father of two, claims cars are driving faster than the 30mph speed limit outside St Edward's Church of England Academy and says he feels they are putting lives at risk.

    He wants "20 is Plenty" road signs (pictured) installed on the route, as well as more road safety guidance for drivers and children. 

    St Edward's Academy hasn't replied to a request for a response while Staffordshire County Council says it continually monitors the safety of the county's roads.

    Drivers are being warned that there are still long delays on the A50 eastbound at Uttoxeter after a crash this morning. 

    Staffordshire Police say two people have been hurt after the collision between Blythe Bridge and Uttoxeter, which happened at around 07:30. 

    Highways England says only one lane remains shut , externaleastbound after the collision but says there are still "long delays".

    Crewe Alexandra's Ryan Lowe has told BBC Radio Stoke this morning that he's disappointed no-one from the club has spoken to him about the managerial change.

    Former player David Artell replaced Steve Davis (pictured) yesterday, after the board made a decision to remove the manager following Saturday's 3-0 defeat at Mansfield Town.

    Artell, 36, is a former Crewe club captain and has been playing as a centre-back for Northern Premier League Droylsden this season.  

    Lowe, who is the club captain, says he would have liked to have been considered for a role in the new managerial set up.

    Budding knitters, felters and spinners are being told today is the last day they can apply to showcase their skills at a new festival in Staffordshire, external, later this year.

    Wool @ Junction 13 is described as "a celebration of all things woolly" and is set to take place in the Penkridge area in May. 

    Those behind it say they are aiming to showcase the best creations in the field of wool and will also have live music and workshops. 

  12. Road shut by fly-tipping due to be cleared todaypublished at 09:21 Greenwich Mean Time 9 January 2017

    Workers will look to clear a pile of fly-tipped waste which closed a road in north Staffordshire on Friday. 

    Hullock's Pool Road near Audley was shut after what looks like building waste was found dumped there.

    Staffordshire County Council said on Friday that "the road has been cleared the road will be reopened".
