     A  signalling problem, external  near Hamstead is causing disruption to rail services between Rugeley Trent Valley and Birmingham New Street. 

    Trains may be delayed by up to 40 minutes and road transport will shuttle between Rugeley Trent Valley and Hednesford.

    The disruption is expected to continue until 11am.

    A man found dead in Milton yesterday has been named.

    Kevin Pickstock, 53, from Smallthorne was found in the canal near Redhills Road on Monday afternoon. It's believed he'd been in an accident and there's not throught to be any suspicious circumstances. 

    His family have been informed.

  4. Pensioner scammed out of £150,000published at 09:32 Greenwich Mean Time 14 March 2017

    More than 3,500 people and businesses in Staffordshire were victims of cyber crime last year, according to new figures. 

    Action Fraud says most of those were related to online banking, but scammers also conned one Stoke-on-Trent pensioner out of £150,000.

    The county's police and crime commissioner, Matthew Ellis, wants more done to tackle the problem and believes accountability among the authorities is the first step.

    Broken paving slabs in Stoke-on-Trent are being replaced two years after they were laid. 

    The streets in the centre of Hanley were fitted with new paving and stone seats, to make it look more streamlined, as part of a major renovation of the area.

    The slabs have since cracked and sunk under the pressure of traffic.

    "It's just not safe enough for inmates" - that's the damning conclusion of a report into Swinfen Hall young offenders institute in Staffordshire, released by the chief inspector of prisons.

    The Category C prison near Lichfield holds more than 600 young men aged between 18 and 25.

    The report says the prison has deteriorated since its last inspection three years ago with rising levels of violence and squalid living conditions. 

    A new governor has now been brought in and more staff are to be recruited.

    Cigarettes have been stolen by thieves who forced their way into a Tesco store in Cannock., external

    Staffordshire Police say they got in in the early hours of this morning to the Heath Way branch. 

    Officers say, as well as the cigarettes, the men got away in a car with other high-value items.

    A man's believed to have suffered an electric shock during a fire at a haulage firm in Crewe this morning. 

    Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service says it , external was called to a blaze involving burning cables at GIST Logistics, Quakers Coppice at 10:38.

    It says firefighters lifted floor tiles to deal with the smoking cables. 

    North West Ambulance Service say the man didn't need hospital treatment.

    The managers of the Enville Estate, just off the Bridgnorth to Stourbridge Road, say it will cost at least £10,000 to clear up a large pile of rubbish dumped on its land.

    The Country Landowners Association, which represents landowners in rural England and Wales has called for more legal action to prevent fly-tipping in the region.
