    A man from Tamworth has been charged with attempting to meet a boy under 16 following grooming.

    He was arrested in the Hockley area of Staffordshire on Friday night, external following reports of a disturbance involving several members of the public.

    The 49 year old is due before magistrates in Cannock today and also faces a charge of assault.

    The owner of a fireworks warehouse which exploded in 2014 and in which two men died is due to appear in court this week, charged with manslaughter. , external

    Employee Simon Hillier, 41, and customer Stewart Staples, 57, died in the fire at SP Plastics in Stafford in 2014.

    Richard Pearson, 43, of The Woodlands, Rowley Park, Stafford, who owned the firm, has been charged with two counts of gross negligence manslaughter.

    He's due to appear before magistrates in Cannock on Wednesday.

    The final route of the HS2 high-speed rail link to northern areas, including between Crewe and Manchester, will be announced today.

    The decision over its route through the north of England has been delayed for several years due to a series of disagreements, the most controversial of which has been which route it should take through Sheffield.

    Transport Secretary Chris Grayling said: "As well as providing desperately needed new seats and better connecting our major cities, HS2 will help rebalance our economy."

    But critics say the £56bn project will damage the environment and is too expensive.

    The first trains are not expected to run until 2026.
