    Midfielder Jonathon Douglas has completed his move to Ipswich Town this afternoon and will be available for selection ahead of Saturday's Championship opener against his former club, Brentford.

    The 33-year-old made 46 appearances for the Bees last season under Mark Warburton, scoring eight goals, but was told by new Head Coach Marinus Dijkhuizen this summer that he was free to move on.

    A one year deal has been agreed between Ipswich and Douglas after the player undewent a successful medical.

    Businesses in Sudbury say rate advantages for charities have led to too many charity shops in the town.

    There's a fear charity shops are becoming too competitive with commercial stores.

    Chris Storey, from the Chamber of Commerce, says rates are a key concern for businesses: "High street shops pay a high rent and they also pay high rates proportionately as well and therefore if the charity shop has a significant reduction in their overhead costs they can out compete commercial businesses."

    We heard earlier that Suffolk is one of five areas where the Woodland Trust, external is piloting a scheme to try to combat the effects of ash dieback disease.

    But what do we know about Chalara, to give it it's proper name? The Forestry Commission, external says:

    • Signs were first seen in Britain in a nursery in Buckinghamshire in February 2012

    • Once a tree is infected, the disease is usually fatal

    • It's thought it can spread up to tens of miles on the wind, but the movement of diseased ash plants is also a problem

    Captain Tom Huggins' second century of the match at Ipswich School might have just about rescued the county's cricketers on the final day of their latest Minor Counties Championship fixture, external.

    Bedfordshire's 462 for 9 meant the away side posted a first innings lead of 121, and they went on to reduce Suffolk to 150 for 4 before stumps on day two.

    A short while ago, Suffolk were 221 for 4 in their 2nd innings, a lead of 100.

    An effort to combat the effects of fungal tree disease ash dieback, external is to be piloted in Suffolk.

    The county has been chosen by the Woodland Trust, external as one of five areas where new trees will be planted, outside of woodlands, to help repair hedgerows and publicly accessible places.

    The Trust is investing £4.5m in native tree stock. It believes as many as 12 million trees could be at risk in non-woodland locations.

    A man who works with the Suffolk Coalition of Disabled People, external says he fully backs a new campaign called 'End The Awkward, external' which aims to change attitudes around disability.

    John Dubois told BBC Suffolk: "We can laugh at certain things and we understand that you're just trying to be nice, but don't overdo it. I am me first rather than a disability, just call me my name if you know me."

    Scope, the national charity, says not enough people know or interact with disabled people.

    Suffolk Police are going back over CCTV footage from a Woolpit supermarket ram-raided by a JCB digger.

    The Costcutter on Old Stowmarket Road was burgled in the early hours of yesterday morning. Thieves got away with "thousands of pounds" held in the cash machine.

    More parts of an ATM were found in a burnt out car, thought to be the getaway vehicle, nearby later.
