When friends and neighbours contacted Peter and Sylvia Stuart's daughter Christy Paxman saying they hadn't seen the couple around the village or attending their usual dance classes, she alerted the police.

The body of Mr Stuart was found that evening wrapped in black material close to a stream in woodland near his home in Weybread.

Mrs Stuart's body has not been found.

A post-mortem examination gave the cause of Mr Stuart's death as multiple stab wounds.

Det Insp Kevin Heywood said all inquiries to prove Mrs Stuart was alive had "proved negative" and although her body has not been found the investigation team had enough evidence to believe that she was dead.

The coroner did not ask for details of the evidence, but accepted that both had died between 28 May and 3 June.
