    Neighbour Liam Wright, who spotted the fire at Bedingfield Hall Farm, said he could hear livestock screaming and what sounded like fireworks going off.

    The fire in the Dutch barn had spread to the pig barn, but luckily the farmer was able to get the animals out quickly.

    The fire here at Bedingfield Hall Farm is just 300m away from the fire of a month ago. This time it was a Dutch barn close to the farmhouse which caught fire.

    It contained barley and straw and quickly took hold. 

    About 10 fire engines are still here, with the fire still burning, but everything seems to be under control.

    For the second time in a month, a large fire has broken out at Bedingfield Hall Farm, near Eye. 

    Nearly 50 firefighters are on the scene of a barn fire there. 

    It's understood livestock are in danger. The barn also contains straw and asbestos. 

    At the start of August, firefighters were called to the same farm, to tackle a fire affecting 50 acres (20 hectares) of field stubble.

  5. Travel: Train services cancelled on London linepublished at 12:30 British Summer Time 8 September 2016

    Three train services between Norwich and London have been cancelled this afternoon. 

    The 12:00 service from Norwich, due in to London at 13:55, has been cancelled because of an earlier train fault while the 12:30 service will not run because of a shortage of crew. 

    This has also caused the 15:00 service from London to Norwich to be cancelled.

  9. Man dies following Sudbury collisionpublished at 11:11 British Summer Time 8 September 2016

    A man has died following a collision between a lorry and a motorbike in Sudbury.

    Police were called shortly before 07:50 to reports of the collision on the A134. 

    The rider of the motorbike was declared dead at the scene.

    The road between the Shawlands Avenue/Northern Road roundabout, and Joes Road (towards Newton) while a collision investigation takes place.

  10. Owner of Bramfield Meats plans to rebuild burnt-out shoppublished at 10:37 British Summer Time 8 September 2016

    The owner of Bramfield Meats says he's intending to rebuild the shop which was destroyed in a major fire yesterday, but in the interim, trading has been moved to the firm's other base at the Emmerdale Farm Shop, near Yoxford.

    Jeremy Thickitt said the significance of the blaze hadn't really sunk in yet. "I've been so busy trying to sort everything out I haven't really had time to really reflect on it, there's just so much to get done," he said.

    "Probably by the end of today, when we see everything running right, I'll be able to think 'oh my goodness'."

  11. Removing tonnes of meat from blaze site 'not an easy job'published at 09:57 British Summer Time 8 September 2016

    The manager of Bramfield Meats, where a blaze destroyed the shop and £100,000-worth of meat yesterday, says clearing the site properly is a "major issue".

    Dale Wilby says: "We've got tonnes of meat that are laying there which needs to be moved ASAP. It's under a lot of metal so it's not going to be an easy job."

    "It has to be disposed of properly. It's a major issue.

    "We have to check that the insurance people are happy for us to take it all away because they have to go through all the debris.

    "We've got staff back, we're now working again and things are now looking like almost back to normal. We’ve got a very positive attitude and we will get this sorted out."

    Since the Suffolk side was last in action the play-off picture has become a bit clearer with Sheffield, Peterborough, external, Workington, external and the Witches likely to fight it out for the last two places.  

    "It's quite simple what we need," said manager Ritchie Hawkins. "We need two wins this week and we need to win by more than six against Sheffield to stop them getting a point, anything less is not good enough."  

    The Witches follow up tonight's meeting with a trip to Redcar, external tomorrow.

    Ipswich Town's, external Tom Lawrence has told BBC Suffolk how much he's benefited from his spells at the likes of Rotherham, Blackburn and Cardiff in recent seasons.

    The 22-year-old is on loan from Premier League champions Leicester City for the rest of the campaign.

    "I think they've helped me really well," said Lawrence. "From a young age it's good to get loan moves under your belt, I feel my game's improved and hopefully I can carry on improving." 

    "It's a hard one because if I stay at Leicester then I maybe play a minority of games whereas if I come here I can push on and play as many games as I can."

  14. Your reaction to the cost of school bus journeyspublished at 09:09 British Summer Time 8 September 2016

    The story about the increase in school bus fares has attracted a lot of comment on our Facebook page, external, showing that it's not just an issue with this route.

    • Sarah Brown writes, external: "The Mulleys operated 988 service school bus to Thurston is £6.50 a day return, £375.00 a term. I would happily pay £3 return a day!" 
    • Brigit Parker says, external: "I moved out of catchment last year and I now have to pay £600 a term to send them on a private bus so £1800 a year! (Yoxford to Thomas mills in framlingham)" 
    • Zoe Rudling posts, external: "It's not just Stowmarket, it's the Eye route to the high school too... What did cost me £487 a year is now over £700!!! I would like to know how they can justify such inflation, it's appalling."

    The Galloway Travel Group, external says service 387, which serves pupils in the Combs Ford area of Stowmarket to Stowupland High School, was running at a loss. One-way fares have doubled from £1 to £2.

    Richard Smith, group operations manager, said: "The increase from £2 to £3 a day [return] follows a financial review of all routes.

    "Unfortunately the previous takings meant the route ran at a loss to the business, and we faced the difficult choice of either cancelling the service or increasing prices.

    "We know how important this route is to families looking to send their children to Stowupland High School and chose to increase the price rather than stopping the service entirely."

    Suffolk County Council says it "doesn't have any control" over the commercial decisions of a private company.

  16. It's 'too expensive' to use school bus, says parentpublished at 08:25 British Summer Time 8 September 2016

    A parent whose children attend Stowupland High School, external, says: "It's now just too expensive for them to get the bus every day."

    The price for a single trip from Stowmarket to Stowupland High school has gone up from £1 to £2.

    Gary Heath added that he works from home repairing computers: "By sending them on the bus, the money I earn for that PC would just go in the bus fares, so it's better that I give them a lift each way every day."

  17. Travel: Collision closes A134 in Sudburypublished at 08:21 British Summer Time 8 September 2016

    More now on the closure of the A134 Northern Road in Sudbury. It's closed in both directions between the A134 Newton Road, and Church Road, because of a collision involving a lorry and a motorcycle, and accident investigation work.

    Police say a diversion has been put in place.
