BBC Radio Suffolk is now being heard "loud and clear" on digital radio.
It was officially launched on DAB at 09:20 this morning.
The switchover came 20 years after digital radio first hit the UK.
David Butcher, BBC Radio Suffolk's engineer, said the county had to wait for a local multiplex network, external to be built.
He said local commercial stations, that drive local multiplexes, had " lost their appetite" until now.
The multiplex is owned by MuxCo, external.
A warning - there are still spots in the county where the digital signal does not reach.
