Forest Heath District Council, which approved the plans in 2015, say they will discuss the issue when they meet on 11 October, and "consider every angle very carefully before making any decision ourselves about our own steps."

"I don't enjoy it, nobody would when you're doing your job, and you've got ironic, sarcastic chants.

"But listen, I've had the other side, the calls of 'Super Mick', and I take them both with the same feeling, because I know it can change around very quickly if we start to get results.

"We all prefer it when they're cheering for us, it's not easy when people are jeering and booing, but they pay their money and want to see better performances, I've no complaints with it."

  11. 'Time running out' for devolution dealpublished at 17:54 British Summer Time 3 October 2016

    Andrew Sinclair
    BBC Look East political correspondent

Plans for devolution for Norfolk and Suffolk appear to be in trouble again.

The idea behind devolution is that money and powers will be taken away from Whitehall and given to the two counties. But reaching agreement is proving to be anything but easy - not least because of concerns about having to have an elected mayor.

Map of Cambs, Norfolk and Suffolk

Half of Norfolk's councils voted against the plans in the summer, and now I understand that opposition to the deal is growing on the county council and on King's Lynn & West Norfolk council...  possibly even in Suffolk, which up until now has been solidly behind the plans.

Intensive talks are now taking place. One person told me the thumbscrews are being applied at the highest level.

But time is running out and the next fortnight will be critical.

Corrie Mckeague's mother has described the RAF as "like a family", stressing that the friends who had been with him on the night he disappeared "are not responsible" for his disappearance.

Nicola Urquhart continued: "Corrie does the same thing every time he goes out.

"Once he goes out, he is an absolute creature of habit. He will leave absolutely on his own; that is not unusual. He will go and get food, and if he has to lay down and have a sleep before he goes home, he will.

"Nothing in his behaviour was even remotely unusual and the boys that he was with would not have been able to stop him from doing that, because that's what he does."

He said they were "beyond happy", having a laugh with each other.

"He's excited to go out, I was working on the Saturday so I was getting ready to go to bed - nothing unusual whatsoever. The conversation was just the way me and him act with each other, the laughs we were having," he said.

  20. Corrie Mckeague's mobile phone still missingpublished at 17:04 British Summer Time 3 October 2016

Acting Supt Kim Warner has described the connection with a refuse lorry and Corrie Mckeague's mobile phone as one of several lines of inquiry.

He explained: "We know that the refuse lorry did travel between the two locations and the times did correlate loosely with the times in which the mobile telephone was picked up in Bury [St Edmunds] and then moving over there [to Barton Mills]".

But he said that, although a search was under way, the phone, a Nokia Lumia, had not yet been found.
