It'll be a dry night with some clear spells across the eastern region with mist and fog forming quite extensively, there's an expected minimum temperature of 5C (41F).

The mist and fog will gradually clear tomorrow morning, although it may linger in some parts into the afternoon, with temperatures likely to reach 9C (48F).

Friends of a serviceman who went missing after a night out are "hoping it's not the last time they see him", a station commander says.

A station commander has spoken of how he joked with an airman about how he "was wasted in the RAF" hours before he disappeared.

Corrie Mckeague went missing after he got escorted out of Flex nightclub in Bury St Edmunds in the early hours of 24 September.

Gp Capt Mick Smeath said the last time he spoke to Mr Mckeague was before he headed out on the night out with his colleagues from the base.

Mr Mckeague had been "joking around" with a band conductor's baton at a family day at RAF Honington.

"I said to him 'you know you're wasted in the air force, you need to go on stage' and he laughed," he said.

"We had a joke about what he would do on the stage."

Goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski says every bad spell of form must come to an end, and he hopes that is the case for Ipswich Town tomorrow.

The Blues face Wigan at the DW Stadium with the Latics second from bottom in the Championship table, and Town just five points above the relegation zone.

"I'm sure we'll be okay, because we're good enough," Bilakowski told us. "We all want to play for this great club as well as we can.

"We are not just playing for the fans. 

"We are playing for ourselves, our futures and our families. It's a great group of lads here and we just need to stick together."

The Mendham-based 46-year-old, known on the circuit as "Snakebite", is one of the favourites for the event, having risen to third place on the PDC Order of Merit., external

However, Wright's been telling BBC commentator Dan Dawson that he came close to quitting the sport not so long ago.

"He told me that he'd intended for the 2013/14 World Championship to be his last," Dawson said. "But after he reached the final, everything changed and he's gotten better and better."

The station commander at RAF Honington said it was "unusual" for a serviceman to go missing.

Corrie Mckeague, who serves as a gunner in No 2 Squardon RAF Regiment, disappeared after a night out in Bury St Edmunds.

Gp Capt Mick Smeath said he is the first serviceman to go missing from the Suffolk airbase.

He said his disappearance was a "mystery".

"There's no evidence to suggest that he was going to do this himself," he said.

"He was happy, doing really well in the Royal Air Force, he had lots of friends, a good family, and a big family here on base.

"It's one of those strange events and I know Suffolk Police are desperate to solve it. 

"I know the family is desperate to have him back, and so are we."

An outgoing station commander has spoken of his sadness that a missing RAF serviceman has still not been found.

Gp Capt Mick Smeath will leave his post at RAF Honington today.

He said he had been keen for Corrie Mckeague to be found before he left his post, which he has held for two years.

Mr Mckeague has been missing since a night out in Bury St Edmunds on 24 September.

"I really wanted Corrie to be found before I left, mainly for the family, for the station and also for me - he's one of mine," said Gp Capt Smeath.

"It feels bad that I'm leaving before he is found."

The colleagues of an RAF airman who were with him the night he vanished "don't feel guilty" about his disappearance, the station commander said.

Corrie Mckeague, 23, disappeared after being separated from friends on a night out in Bury St Edmunds and was last seen by CCTV cameras in the early hours of Saturday, 24 September.

Gp Capt Mick Smeath, who will leave his post at RAF Honington today, said there was "shock" at the station when the gunner first disappeared - and there is "very much concern".

Mr Mckeague's friends from the airbase were separated from him when he was asked to leave a nightclub.

Of those friends, the station commander said: "I don't think they feel guilty.

"They are very sad. They're hoping it's not the last time they see him.

"They want him back and I think they are genuinely sad for the family."

Cambridge company Iliffe Media has taken on 13 titles from Johnston Press, external.

They are: the Lynn News, Fenland Citizen, Diss Express, Bury Free Press, Haverhill Echo, Newmarket Journal, Suffolk Free Press, Stamford Mercury, Rutland Times, Bourne Local, Grantham Journal, Spalding Guardian and Lincs Free Press.
