    Team manager Ritchie Hawkins told the club website: "We go there in good spirits and there is massive improvement in us, and if we ride like we did at Peterborough then we can get a result there."

    The 20-year-old has certainly made the most of his run in the side while Jonas Knudsen's been out injured, performing superbly against Burton and Newcastle over Easter.

    "He deserves the plaudits he's getting and with the pressure possibly off now (with relegation avoided) and a team that should be playing with a bit more freedom you're going to see what a good player he is. 

    "I've seen it for the last 18 months, he's had to bide his time, unfortunately for Jonas he's hurt his shoulder, but Myles has come in and he doesn't look out of place."

  4. Norfolk and Suffolk mental health trust 'has taken on inquest findings'published at 13:40 British Summer Time 20 April 2017

    We've been following the story of the trust which runs mental health services in Norfolk and Suffolk being criticised after an inquest found that neglect contributed to a patient's death.

    Neil Jewell, 42, died in 2014 after a series of failures, the inquest said.

    He had paranoid schizophrenia and was not properly monitored after being given a tranquiliser, an inquest in Ipswich heard yesterday.

    Dr Jane Sayer, director of quality and nursing at Norfolk and Suffolk Foundation Trust, which runs mental health services, said: “We fully take on board the findings of the coroner and the jury and unreservedly apologise for what has been deemed as our trust’s part in the contribution to this patient’s death in 2014.

    "The care provided was not acceptable and is not the standard of care we would offer to patients in our services today.

    “Since the patient’s death, and following our own extensive internal reviews into what went wrong we introduced immediate measures to put things right to avoid this happening again.

    "This has included ensuring that our patients based in the community always have a named mental health professional or duty worker coordinating their care, to offer greater support."

  6. Sister welcomes 'neglect' finding at inquest into death of Norfolk mental health patientpublished at 12:46 British Summer Time 20 April 2017

    The family of a man who died in the care of Norfolk's mental health trust have welcomed the findings of an inquest into his death.

    Neil Jewell, 42, from north Norfolk, had paranoid schizophrenia and died after suffering a cardiac arrest in 2014.

    But yesterday a jury at Ipswich Coroner's Court said neglect by staff contributed to his death.

    The inquest found staff weren't monitoring him well enough and vital signs were missed.

    The Norfolk and Suffolk Foundation Trust, which runs mental health services, has apologised and said it has made changes to stop something like this happening again.

    Christine Welfare, Mr Jewell's sister, said she was pleased with the findings. 

    "I am utterly relieved that the jury has agreed it was neglect which contributed to my brother's death. I am pleased for Neil that his voice had been heard," she said.

    The county's area organiser for CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Ale, external, says they can't find a venue to host the Ipswich Beer Festival.

    Nigel Smith, pictured at the event in 2015 when it was held on the practice pitch at Portman Road, said: "We haven't got a venue at the moment, not a suitable venue.

    "We've tried outside, and every year we've been outside, we've lost money.

    "I still think the one at the football ground was superb. We did enjoy doing that but we did lose a spectacular amount of money when we ran it, so we've been reluctant to repeat that."

    A Norfolk MP was encouraged to buy flowers for his wife after showing MPs her wrinkle cream.

    Sir Henry Bellingham's revelation was jokingly deemed "outrageous" and "disgraceful" after he noted he found the product while "rummaging" through his wife's shampoo collection.

    Environment minister and Suffolk Coastal MP Therese Coffey described Sir Henry's wife as a "flawless picture" and suggested he should give her some flowers as a way of making up for his comments.

    Sir Henry made the remark as he encouraged ministers to urge manufacturer Procter & Gamble to remove the "completely outrageous" Olay product from shops due to the environmental damage caused by microbeads within it.

    Ms Coffey replied: "It's fair to say that we are working with manufacturers now and a lot of them are starting to remove these products pro-actively. 

    "That's good news, but we want to make sure this avoidable pollution is taken out of our environment permanently."

    Ipswich Town, external boss Mick McCarthy admits the Blues squad will need to be freshened up this summer, with new faces essential if the club is to go forward.

    "The squad is going to have to change, it's not just a question of replacing Daryl Murphy," said McCarthy. 

    "Things have to change because I think that it can be that you're with players for too long and eventually maybe they need to change or the manager needs to change. 

    "If for some unknown reason it's somebody else (in charge) then it will change because they'll want different players."

  12. Southwold residents urged to back local plan for former hospitalpublished at 10:43 British Summer Time 20 April 2017

    Leaders of a community campaign in Southwold are urging people to vote this evening on the future use of the town's former hospital.

    People will be asked if they want the site to be sold to a developer for second homes, or be developed by the Save Our Southwold group, external for community use.

    The group says the vote is a symbolic gesture, which it hopes will strengthen its hand during negotiations with the NHS who own the building.

    Spokesman Laurence Vulliamy says: "What we're trying to do now is create a phoenix which will rise again and have a new life for the community.

    "That could include a new home for the library, a creche possibly, a community cafe which will act as a social centre."

  13. Nine fire vehicles attend ammonia leakpublished at 09:54 British Summer Time 20 April 2017

    Suffolk Fire Service has told us that nine vehicles were mobilised to an incident at the Birds Eye factory in Lowestoft in the early hours of this morning.

    Station Commander for the town Phil Cornsford said: "Fortunately in this case it was just confined to ammonia gas, which is able to be vented off.

    "In the event of a larger spill, involving chemical liquid, we would have gone into full decontamination procedure, which is why we had more fire engines en route."

  14. Lorry driver to be sentenced for dangerous drivingpublished at 09:42 British Summer Time 20 April 2017

    A lorry driver who admitted dangerous driving after a steam engine on the back of his truck crashed into a bus, seriously injuring six people, is due to be sentenced today.

    Philip Last, 53, was driving along East Mersea Road in West Mersea, when the steam engine fell from his low loader in September 2015.

    Last, of Northgate Street, Great Yarmouth, pleaded guilty to six counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

    He will be sentenced at Ipswich Crown Court this afternoon.

  15. Firefighters attend chemical leakpublished at 09:22 British Summer Time 20 April 2017

    Dozens of firefighters spent an hour on the scene of Lowestoft's Birds Eye factory in the early hours of this morning.

    Crews were alerted to a chemical leak at the site just after 04:00, which was later identified as ammonia gas, coming from a refrigeration plant.

    Station Commander for Lowestoft Phil Cornsford says Birds Eye has a specialist team on site to deal with this type of incident: "We work very closely with them.

    "They're the lead, they're the experts, they're the engineers.

    "They're trained to use breathing apparatus and they were able to go in and isolate the leak themselves, and we gave them support and back-up."

  16. Renewed appeal in search for missing manpublished at 08:59 British Summer Time 20 April 2017

    Police are appealing to people in south Norfolk to remember where they were on Tuesday, 4 April.

    Officers are searching for Nigel Kedar, 52, from Clacton, who was last seen walking southbound along the A140 corridor through Dickleburgh.

    They are keen to speak to anyone who travelled through the village, Scole or Diss.

    Nigel's sister Diana Mays appealed to anyone who may know where her brother is: "If anything's happened, or he feels he can't come home it doesn't matter, just tell him to come home. 

    "Whatever he's done we can sort it, we love him, we just want him home," she said.
