Unlike the majority of fans, Ipswich Town, external boss Mick McCarthy wasn't shocked to see his side play so well in Monday's victory over promotion chasers Newcastle United.

    Mick McCarthy

He believes that, belatedly, he's now getting his best attacking players up to full speed.

"I don't think we've ever had that team to play Freddie (Sears), Tom (Lawrence) and (David) McGoldrick, when they've been as fit as they all are now. Plus there's Grant Ward and Emyr Huws, it's never been that settled."

"I had to change it mid-season and go with five at the back and that got us results. That stopped us being beaten, it was a means to an end, but when I've got those guys fit and firing like that it's a different ball game altogether."

  19. Ryman League: Sudbury's players have cheated their club - Needham bosspublished at 13:26 British Summer Time 19 April 2017

    Brenner Woolley
    BBC Radio Suffolk sport

Needham Market, external manager Mark Morsley believes AFC Sudbury's, external players have let their club down and deserve to have their wages docked.

With Sudbury already relegated, Monday's 1-1 draw between the two sides has almost certainly ended Needham's play-off hopes.

    Mark Morsley

"I had two great years at this club (Sudbury) and there are some great people here and Jamie (Godbold, manager) and Andy (Reynolds, assistant manager) are fantastic people" said Morsley.

"I feel sorry for them because the Sudbury players out there today have cheated the football club. If they put that level of performance in week in, week out, they wouldn't have been relegated."

"So they stop us going up and it's a local derby and they raise their game for that, but that's not what football's about."

"They're well looked after, it's a fantastic place, and I just felt that there's a lot of players playing for Sudbury that could perhaps give their wages back because they've let the club down."
