1. Cambridge light festival e-luminate 'on hold' for 2019published at 08:42 British Summer Time 24 May 2018

The future of a Cambridge festival which, for the past five years has seen the city's landmark buildings lit up in dazzling colour, looks uncertain as organisers look to "remodel" it.

E-Luminate, run by Cambridge Live, usually takes place in February when the Fitzwilliam Museum, the university's Senate House and King's College Chapel - among others - are drenched in lights for several nights.

However, as the Cambridge News reports, external, the 2019 festival is on hold, and won't be taking place next February.

Organisers tell the BBC e-Luminate, external will still go ahead, and although it will light up the city at some point, they are not sure when that will be.

The festival "needs remodelling" and while "the organisation is considering other times of the year to potentially run the festival", until the remodel is complete, they can't say when that will be.

Crates of booze was bad news for this van driver whose vehicle was pulled over for being a whopping 80% over its legal weight limit.

The Sprinter van was carrying about 3,500 litres (6,160 pints) of beer, worth £7,500, when it was stopped on the A1 near Sawtry in Cambridgeshire.

Great Yarmouth Air Show is in talks with the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) over a new route to avoid disturbing little tern colonies at Scroby Sands and the beach at North Denes.

A show organiser said it was "frustrating" having to make adjustments with just three weeks to go.

The RSPB and Natural England have raised concerns with the CAA about the show starring the world famous Coningsby-based aerobatic team.

The terns are among the UK's rarest sea birds and are protected by law.

Show director Kevin Marsh said there was "never a threat to the show".

"The CAA didn't understand their responsibility with regards to protecting the habitat," he added.

The show, which was cancelled last year, has cost some £650,000 to stage and 175,000 people are expected to attend.
