    The 13th seed lost 6-4 7-5 against the Latvian world number 48.

    A 13-year-old boy has been airlifted to hospital after getting stuck on rocks in Hastings.   

    A joint operation was launched by Hastings and Bexhill Coastguard along with the ambulance service at 15:30 BST yesterday.

    Work is due to begin today on a £3.2m scheme to overhaul part of Crawley town centre.

    Crawley Borough Council say improvements to Queens Square will transform it into a high quality, distinctive and enjoyable public space.

    There was an unusual discovery for staff from East Sussex Wildlife Rescue in St Leonards yesterday - a red-footed booby.

    Rescuers Andrew Loftus and Charlotte Humphreys managed to catch the bird on the beach after being called by Gail Cohen and took it to their casualty centre at Whitesmith for initial care.

    The seabirds do not migrate, but live year-round in tropical and subtropical regions of the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans and often follow marine craft.

    The main runway at Gatwick Airport, external has reopened after being closed for several hours following an inspection.

    Eight aircraft were diverted after it was forced to open its alternative runway at around 19.40 BST yesterday.
