    Police found just over a kilo of class A drugs in a vehicle in Guildford.

    The drugs were hidden in a Honda CRV which officers stopped at the Guildford Spectrum in Parkway on November 20.

    A 40-year-old man has appeared in court, charged with possession with intent to supply.

    Students at the University of Brighton face another day of cancelled lectures as part of a strike over compulsory staff redundancies.

    Yesterday hundreds of lecturers walked out.

    They're also adopting a "work to contract" policy which means they won't do overtime.

    The university says the industrial action is "unjustified".

    Family and friends of a teenager from Dover who died from a rare form of cancer will gather for her funeral today.

    Kelly Turner, 17, from Dover, was diagnosed with a desmoplastic small round cell tumour in 2015 and was told told she had around two years to live.

    Local people helped raise more than £600,000 of the £1m target, but she died on 6 November.

    That money will now go towards funding research to help others with her strain of the disease.

    Several vehicles have been destroyed or damaged in a second suspected arson attack at a caravan centre near Cowden.

    Police say 11 caravans were set on fire at the dealership in Colestock Cross just before 18:00 GMT on 18 November.

    They're linking it to another suspected arson attack on 9 October when 23 caravans and motorhomes were damaged or destroyed.

    Nobody was injured in either incident.

    The hospital said it would have taken action, had staff been made aware.

    The MP for Sevenoaks has spoken in parliament for the first time since resigning from the Cabinet.

    Former defence secretary Sir Michael Fallon stood down on 1 November as part of the sexual harassment scandal sweeping Westminster, admitting his "previous conduct" towards women had fallen below "acceptable standards".

    Speaking during a Commons debate on the Budget, the Conservative Euro-sceptic urged fellow MPs to be more positive about the UK leaving the European Union.

    Lecturers at the University of Brighton have walked out on strike.

    The dispute is over compulsory redundancies and concerns over the closure of other campuses in neighbouring towns.

    The University and Colleges Union says thousands of students in Brighton, Eastbourne and Hastings will see their classes cancelled during the one and a half day strike.

    The university said the action was over two staff members and was "counter-productive" and "unjustified".

    Emergency crews had to be called after a woman's car collided with another vehicle at a petrol station in Hove and then reversed into the main building.

    It happened at the Esso garage in Station Approach at about 12:15 GMT.

    The driver, who's in her 80s, wasn't hurt.

    Police say there was some damage to a wall and windows.

    Customs officers have discovered 20kg of cocaine, worth an estimated £1.2m, at the Port of Dover.

    The drugs were discovered in a Lithuanian registered lorry, which was stopped on its way into the UK at the Eastern Docks on 21 November.

    A Lithuanian national has been arrested and remanded in custody.
