Sarah Murphy, right, is on holiday in Bali.

Thousands of tourists are stranded in Bali after the island's airport was closed over fears of an imminent major eruption of the island's Mount Agung volcano.

We're in Padang Padang which is in the south west part of the island. We can't see the volcano at the moment but we were closer a few days ago and it was kicking out quite a bit of cloud and ash then.

    Quote Message

We were meant to fly this afternoon but we got an email in the early hours of this morning saying our flight had been cancelled. We've now been rebooked on a flight leaving tomorrow so if that goes to plan we should be home by Wednesday, but it'll really depend on what happens next. We've been told if volcanic ash gets into the engine it breaks down so that's obviously a big concern.

    Quote Message

We're all in the same boat here but nobody seems too worried at the moment."
