The family of a 10-year-old girl killed in a suspected hit-and-run incident in Newcastle released balloons in her memory last night.
Melissa Tate was struck on Hillsview Avenue in Kenton on Wednesday.
Her family have said her organs were donated in the hope they can save other children.
At the weekend, 23-year-old Connor Marsden, from Ambridge Way in Kenton, appeared in court charged with causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop, causing death by driving while not having a licence and other motoring offences.
He was remanded in custody ahead of his next court hearing on 28 October.
