These numbers shouldn't be confused with the total number of people who are homeless, this is simply a count of people found to be sleeping rough in a city on a given night when the counting takes place.
The figures, released today by the Department of Communities and Local Government, show an increase in autumn 2016 of 16% from the same period the year before.
They show mixed results for Yorkshire with the number in York remaining the same but rising by 36% in Sheffield and 53% in Leeds.
