Life for man who beat two to death with dumb-bellpublished at 14:46 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2017
A Bradford taxi driver who murdered his wife's lover and his friend six years ago has been given a life sentence with a minimum tariff of 31 years.
Mohammed Zubair, 36, fled to Pakistan after the killings, but was extradited last year to face trial in Bradford.
In May 2011, at his home in Barkerend, Zubair used a dumb-bell bar to savagely beat to death electrician Ahmedin Khyel, who'd been having an affair with Zubair's wife.
Mr Khyel's friend, Imran Khan, an innocent bystander, was also murdered by Zubair, who then dumped the men's bodies in a lane in the outskirts of Bradford before fleeing abroad.
Two years later, Zubair was detained in Pakistan and was extradited last May to stand trial at Bradford Crown Court, where he was found guilty of the two murders.
