    A grandmother and two children have been rescued from a house fire in Cudworth this morning. 

    Firefighters were called to the fire in the end terraced house on Barnsley Road in Cudworth at 03:00.

    There was a fire in the kitchen and the occupants were trapped in a downstairs room.

    Firefighters from Cudworth and Barnsley attended. 

    The grandmother and two children have been taken to hospital suffering from the effects of smoke.

    • Part of Leeds city centre was sealed off last night after reports of a man with a gun
    • There are fears free range eggs may soon be unavailable on supermarket shelves. A major producer in North Yorkshire says if bird flu restrictions continue, they'll have to relabel their eggs as from a "barn"
    • There's a human blockade outside a Sheffield Primary School this morning
    • Elland Bridge in Calderdale will fully reopen to cars later today
  5. Leeds city centre gun incident: Latest from the scenepublished at 06:52 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2017

    Police have now reopened The Headrow, Albion Street and Dortmund Square following the arrest of a man in connection with a firearms offence. 

    Sainsbury's supermarket remains cordoned off, though deliveries are taking place as normal.

    It's not yet clear what has happened.

    M1 South Yorkshire - Queuing traffic and two lanes closed on M1 southbound at J34, A631 (Meadowhall), because of roadworks 

    M1 South Yorkshire - M1 closed and queuing traffic southbound between J33, A630 (Catcliffe) and J32, M18 (Thurcroft), because of roadworks.

    Part of Leeds city centre was closed off overnight following reports of a man with a gun.

    Armed Police were called out to the Headrow and Albion Street last night.

    We're told nobody was injured and there was no gunfire. 

    One man's been arrested on suspicion of firearms offences.

    All roads have now re-opened.
