    I can't imagine what it would have been like to have been kicked out of home at a young age. 

    The Yorkshire homeless charity Sash, Safe and Sound Homes, which supports young people by providing a roof over their head, says the number of teens being offered emergency accommodation across York and North Yorkshire has more than doubled in the last five years.

  5. Funeral of 16-year-old Leonne Weekspublished at 08:43 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2017

    The funeral's taking place today of 16-year-old Leonne Weeks, whose body was discovered on a pathway off Lordens Hill in Dinnington, near Rotherham in January.

    A post-mortem examination found she died as a result of multiple stab wounds.

    There will be a procession before the funeral service at St Leonard's church at 1330.

    Shea Peter Heeley, 18, of Doe Quarry Lane, Dinnington, has been charged with her murder, and is due to appear at Sheffield Crown Court next week.

    The luxury supercar manufacturer McLaren will officially announce it's to build a £50m chassis factory near Rotherham creating 200 jobs.  

    The "world-class" facility will be built at the University of Sheffield's Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre near Rotherham.

    Construction is due to start "in early 2017", with full production of advanced carbon fibre chassis by 2020.

  10. Watch: Multi million pound incinerator at Keighley decision due todaypublished at 07:43 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2017

    Plans to build a multi-million pound incinerator to burn industrial waste near Keighley in West Yorkshire will be considered today. 

    Bradford councillors will be shown a revised planning application for the £135m project which developers say will create five hundred jobs. 

    Objectors to the scheme on outskirts of Keighley say they fear it will harm their health and the environment.
