  2. 'We nearly pulled it off' - York boss Mills on Lincoln drawpublished at 07:38 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2017

    Adam Pope
    BBC Sport, Yorkshire

York City picked up a surprise point at National League leaders Lincoln last night.

The Minstermen took an early lead through Jon Parkin, only to concede with less than 15 minutes to go.

Other results went against them, though, and they're now eight points off safety.

Manager Gary Mills felt the performance deserved more than just a draw:

"We need to win games so we've got to back it up with a win at home on Saturday, but it's a great shift from the players.

"Personally, I can't ask any more of them. I thought there were some good performances out there, and as a team I thought we pulled together and nearly pulled it off - but not quite."

Stephen Booth's wife died eight years ago from cancer, at the age of just 49.

Before that, the couple lost their baby daughter, Alice Marie, at just 27-days-old.

They, along with Stephen's parents, are buried at Brighouse Cemetery.

But earlier this week Mr Booth said he found tonnes of soil and clay had been dumped on top of their graves.

The headstones have been damaged and scores of flowers crushed, Mr Booth says.
