Floods in the Calder ValleyImage source, PA

It's hoped that the measure will help to slow the flow of water in Calder Valley and prevent future floods on the scale of those seen on Boxing Day in 2015.

    Quote Message

The legislation that underpins the role of water companies is very clear about the expectations on them for how they manage and respond to flood risks. Of course this natural flood management scheme will help contribute in slowing down any excess water and making a difference, and I want to see as many of these schemes up and running as possible.
