The 61-year-old was stabbed to death by Will Cornick at Corpus Christi Catholic College in April 2014.

Cornick, who was 15 at the time of the killing, admitted murdering Mrs Maguire and was later sentenced to life with a minimum term of 20 years.

Her family's call for a judicial review into the decision by West Yorkshire coroner Kevin McLoughlin not to allow evidence from pupils at the inquest into her death was rejected by a High Court judge in August.

Earlier, Irwin Mitchell partner, Yogi Amin, who represents Mrs Maguire's family, said today's appeal represented "the next step in the family's long-running battle to attain a full and fair inquest into the murder of Ann".

  12. Judge gives reasons for contempt verdictpublished at 12:36 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2017

    Kevin Larkin
    Political reporter, BBC Radio Sheffield

Mr Justice Males told the High Court sitting in Sheffield on Friday that he had "no doubt" Calvin Payne had committed contempt of court based on a Facebook post encouraging others to break the injunction he'd set in the summer.

    Calvin Payne

But in the detail published this morning Mr Justice Males found Calvin Payne had committed two further counts of contempt by breaking the injunction at a protest on Kenwood Road on the 28 and 29 September.

However tree campaigners will take comfort from the fact that Sheffield council's definition of a tree safety zone is not correct under the injunction.

It means that unless there is a solid circle of barriers erected around a tree then protesters standing underneath are not breaking that court order.

Calvin Payne is set to be sentenced at the High Court sitting in Sheffield on Friday.
