As it touches down in Dublin, an Irish tricolour and the papal flag can be seen flying from the cockpit windows of the Pope's plane, Shepherd One.

Among the group gathered on the airport tarmac are Archbishop Eamon Martin, the head of the Catholic Church in Ireland, and Simon Coveney, Ireland's deputy prime minister (Tánaiste) and foreign minister.
The Pope is expected to touch down in about 10 minutes.

The Pope is expected to spend approximately 15 minutes at the airport before being transported to Áras an Úachtaran (the presidential residence) in Phoenix Park.

More than 4,500 children in Catholic school across Ireland took part in a competition to design papal robes as a gift for Pope Francis. And it was Jane, from Tipperary, who was judged the eventual winner and will present her designed vestments to the Pope shortly,

16:30 - Private visit to the Capuchin Day Centre, a centre for homeless people
19:45 - Preside at the Festival of Families at Croke Park
