  7. PM: I've made passionate and strong case for Remainpublished at 20:38 British Summer Time 15 June 2016

    Channel 4

It was suggested by presenter Jon Snow that the PM could have easily been on the Leave campaign, but David Cameron told him he has "always argued for reform" of the EU, and added: "I've never actually argued for Out in my political lifetime."

He also denied suggestions he was dispassionate about ther EU. The PM said he wasn't a "utopian dreamer" when it came to the EU, but rather a "practical person" and so was making "practical arguments" about the UK being "safer and stronger" within the EU.

    Quote Message

I think you've seen from me a very passionate and strong, pro-Remain campaign... I've put everything I can in to this campaign and there's another seven days to go and you'll see even more."

  8. PM defends decision to call EU referendumpublished at 20:25 British Summer Time 15 June 2016

    Channel 4

Speaking to Channel 4 News earlier, David Cameron was asked why he called a referendum on the EU, if he thinks a vote to leave would be such a risk?

The PM said it was "right for the British public to decide how the country is governed", adding: "We haven't had a vote since 1975 and I think we've had a lot of European treaties and changes since then."

    Quote Message

I'm confident we'll get the right result, which is Britain staying in a reformed European Union."

He also rejected it was only his party wanting a referendum, saying all political parties were calling for one.

  9. Does immigration reduce wages?published at 20:21 British Summer Time 15 June 2016

    Reality Check

Michael Gove saying "Working people have their wages cut by 2% for every 10% increase in migration.”

Michael Gove quoted a Bank of England report, saying: “Working people have their wages cut by 2% for every 10% increase in migration.”

The Bank of England found this could be the case in lower-paid jobs.

It’s a 10% increase in the number of migrants working in a particular sector that matters rather than a 10% increase in the migration rate overall.

A 10% increase in the number of migrants would be a very large rise.

You can read more about the report here.

  17. Criminals we can't deportpublished at 19:35 British Summer Time 15 June 2016

    Reality Check

Michael Gove says: "At the moment under European Union law there are criminals here who we can’t deport”.

It is true that under EU rules, citizens of other EU countries can only be stopped or deported on the grounds of public policy, public security or public health. And the threshold goes up after five and 10 years of residence in the UK.

EU law also gives additional rights of entry and residence to the family members of EU citizens even if they're from elsewhere. That means it's more difficult for Britain to deport or bar entry to criminals who are from the EU or related to EU citizens.

You can read more about the issues with deporting criminals here.
