  3. Tory chairman: Focus is on winning meaningful votepublished at 12:34 Greenwich Mean Time 16 November 2018

    BBC Politics Live
    BBC2's lunchtime political programme

Conservative Chairman Brandon Lewis has criticised Labour's six tests for the Brexit deal, and says "a second referendum cannot happen".

When pressured on whether the deal can pass through Parliament, Mr Lewis told the BBC "there were a lot of people making comments before they'd read the documents - the focus now is to make sure people are acting in the national interest".

"Our focus is on winning a meaningful vote at the first attempt."

Shadow attorney general Baroness Chakrabarti described the situation as "this is the worst of both worlds as she's negotiating with her own party".

Theresa May is "playing a game of chicken with something so vital to this country", she added.

  4. Brexit Q&A: Your questions answeredpublished at 12:28 Greenwich Mean Time 16 November 2018

    Adam Fleming
    Brussels reporter

BBC Brussels reporter Adam Fleming has been answering your questions on the Brexit withdrawal deal.

“If the EU nations reject this deal where is the ball and whose court is it in?”

Adam says the chances of the 27 other EU nations rejecting the draft withdrawal deal are very slim and they have already arranged to meet on 25 November to sign off the agreement.

What’s more likely is that the UK won’t be able to agree on the deal, he says.

However, the agreements that come out of the negotiations on the UK’s future relationship with the EU could pose more of a problem.

If any of the treaties agreed touch on areas national governments are responsible for then they will have to be approved by - and could be rejected by - all the 27 national governments, whether through a vote in their parliament or even their regional parliaments.

  7. Theresa May 'no longer in control'published at 12:14 Greenwich Mean Time 16 November 2018

    Norman Smith
    Assistant political editor

The BBC's assistant political editor Norman Smith says he doesn't think Theresa May is in control anymore and she is at the mercy of events around her.

He says Graham Brady, who is in charge of backbench MPs, has still not announced that the 48 letters needed to trigger a vote of confidence have been received, however it is becoming increasingly likely.

It's not game over for Theresa May, she is still hanging on by a thread and so is her Brexit deal.

  15. Liam Fox: 'In national interest to provide certainty as soon as possible'published at 11:51 Greenwich Mean Time 16 November 2018

    Liam Fox

Addressing a conference in Bristol to mark exports week, International Trade Secretary Liam Fox says "there's a world beyond the European Union, and there will be a time beyond Brexit."

"The only limiting factor will be the scale of our ambition," he adds.

"Whatever you're selling, there's someone out there who's keen to buy, and keen to buy British."

Mr Fox says "the difficult part of Brexit was never going to be the trading element, it was always going to be the political bit - separation, citizens rights and money".

He says the government "are still waiting" for the EU to give some of its views, but when the deal is put in front of Parliament he hopes MPs "will take a rational and reasonable view of this".

"We are not elected to do what we want to do, but to do what is in the national interest," he adds.

"I hope across parliament we recognise that a deal is better than no deal, and businesses require certainty - it's in our national interest to provide certainty as soon as possible."
