  11. A quick recap: Cabinet makes its decisionpublished at 19:37 Greenwich Mean Time 14 November 2018

Just a quick recap on exactly what's just happened. After more than five hours, the cabinet has given the green light to the draft Brexit agreement. It sets out how the divorce - as it's often called - will work in practice and what post-Brexit relations will look like'

This is what Theresa May said:

    Quote Message

I firmly believe that the draft withdrawal agreement was the best that could be negotiated and it was for the cabinet to decide whether to move on in the talks. The choices before us were difficult particularly in relation to the Northern Ireland backstop. But the collective decision of cabinet was that the government should agree the draft withdrawal agreement and the outline political declaration."

  15. Tory MP: 'European Commission's interest has been to punish UK'published at 19:31 Greenwich Mean Time 14 November 2018

    BBC News Channel

On the news that the cabinet has backed the Brexit agreement, Tory MP Crispin Blunt says he "cannot see the ERG and MPs accepting this deal".

The ERG, remember, is a group of influential Conservative Brexiteers.

"This negotiation has been conducted by the European Commission whose interest has been to punish the UK for having the tenacity to say we no longer want to remain in the EU," Mr Blunt adds.

"They have not been representing the real interests of the EU 27."

He disagrees with Mrs May's statement that "this deal will allow us to take back control."

"It was grossly negligent for David Cameron to do no no-deal planning before the vote," he adds.

"When we've left, the United Kingdom is going to be in an immensely powerful position - the EU need our trade and money."

  16. EU statement laterpublished at 19:29 Greenwich Mean Time 14 November 2018

  19. DUP MP: This is a bad dealpublished at 19:26 Greenwich Mean Time 14 November 2018

First reaction comes from the DUP - Theresa May's political allies in the Commons. Speaking to the BBC, the party's Sammy Wilson says "it's a poor deal, a bad deal, and a deal that the prime minister said she would not accept."

He asks why the prime minister wishes to sell a deal to the House of Commons that keeps us tied to the customs union "for the cost of £29m".

"To use her saying, no deal is better than a bad deal, but this is a bad deal.

    "People will be appalled."

  20. 'With my head and my heart'published at 19:24 Greenwich Mean Time 14 November 2018

Theresa May says she will make a statement in Parliament tomorrow.

"I firmly believe with my head and my heart that this is a decision that is in the best interests of the entire United Kingdom," she concludes.

With that, Theresa May heads back inside Number 10.
