    Jeremy Corbyn says the new prime minister should "go back to the people" with any new Brexit plan.

    Responding to Boris Johnson's statement in the House of Commons, the Labour leader says his party would oppose a Brexit deal that failed to protect jobs, workers’ rights or the environment.

    He adds: “If he has the confidence to put that decision back to the people, we would campaign to remain.”

    Plaid Cymru Westminster leader Liz Saville Roberts says data shows Boris Johnson faces a choice between leadership of the UK and delivering Brexit, adding: "He has to pick one, do or die".

    Boris Johnson replies that it is "common ground" between the UK and EU that "there are abundant facilities already available".

    Adding that they need "certainty now", she asks whether Boris Johnson's government will back a bill on this issue tabled by a Lib Dem peer, Lord Oates.

    Mr Johnson replies that the rights of EU citizens will be "guaranteed in law".

    He says one million have already signed up for the new "settled status" scheme to remain in the UK after Brexit.
