    The sun has set on another day of the Queen's Baton Relay, and we have had a great time travelling through Aberdeenshire.

    The relay will now visit an evening event in Peterhead, where organisers say 2,000 people will celebrate the arrival of the baton.

    We will stay in the region tomorrow as the relay will continue in Aberdeen.

    Team Scotland shooter Shona Marshall is the final baton bearer of the day.

    Shona is currently preparing to represent Scotland at the Commonwealth Games next month.

    She won a silver medal in the Women's Trap at the Delhi Games four years ago.

    Stephen Bruce is described as "an incredible volunteer who is dedicated to helping his community" by those who nominated him to carry the baton.

    He set up the local Peterhead jogscotland, which now has over 200 members.

    The group has also raised over £100,000 for various charities.

    Caitlain Willox is a member of the Brownies and two local theatre groups.

    She also helps her mum and sister at jogscotland.

    The people who nominated Caitlain said she is "always smiling and encourages others to get involved in sports simply through her incessant activity".

    Ewan is tireless fundraiser for the Friends of the Special Nursery in Aberdeen.

    Last August, he raised £6,000 for charity when he reached the the top of Ben Nevis.

    Over the years, his fundraising activities has totalled over £20,000.

    The Queen's Baton Relay is making the final trip of the day to the north east coast town.

    Junior cycling champion Zak Loney carried the baton in Mintlaw.

    When asked why he should carry the Queen's Baton, his nominees said: "He is one of the most dedicated young cyclists in the whole country".

    Zak is the Scottish Junior National Pursuit Champion.

    The crowds are really getting into the swing of things as they cheer on the baton bearers.

    The lucky seven in the Aberdeenshire village are: Kevin MacIver, Antony Beacom, Stefani Duncan, Zak Loney, Isla Baxter, Louise Brown and Gordon Reid.

    Congratulations to Team Scotland athletes Eilidh Child, Allan Smith and Lynsey Sharp who have had a successful afternoon at the British Athletics Championships.

    Eilidh won the 400m hurdles with Lynsey securing victory in the 800m.

    Allan completed the trio of success with by winning the high jump.

    Lynsey tweeted, external: "There are only a few people who know how much today means to me. I've said it before, Never give up. I love my sport. #BritishChampion"

  12. Fencing champ takes the batonpublished at 17:30 British Summer Time 29 June 2014

    Former fencing champion Alexander Leckie is the final baton bearer in Fraserburgh.

    Alexander won gold in the 1962 Commonwealth Games in Perth, Australia.

    He also competed in three Olympic Games and received an honorary Doctorate degree from the University of Glasgow earlier this year.

    The Queen's Baton Relay is working its way through Aberdeenshire today. We have visited Inverurie and have reached Oldmeldrum, Turriff, Banff, Macduff and now Fraserburgh.

    Ian Watson is a big part of the community in Fraserburgh.

    He formed the Fraserburgh Sports Hub, an organisation that is described as "making a major impact on the health, well-being, infrastructure and ambition of Fraserburgh and the surrounding area" by those who nominated Ian to carry the Queen's Baton.

    Ian is also a keen cricketer, who has been the chairperson of the local club for many years.

    Teacher Georgina Hay is the next to carry the baton in Fraserburgh.

    The people who nominated Georgina said: "Her love for the children and her job shines through and she encourages her pupils to be the best that they can be."

    In addition to working in Rathen Primary School, Georgina is a volunteer with an Aberdeenshire autism group where she supports both carers and autistic children.

    Baton bearer Doreen Mair set up the Fraserburgh Initiative For Swimming, Sport and Health with the ambition of establishing a new swimming pool for the town. Her committee have managed to raise over £125,000 in only five years.

    The people who nominated her said: "For the last three decades Doreen has made huge steps to develop and improve her local community."

    She has been the leader of the Girls' Brigade for 25 years and is described as a huge motivation for girls in the group.
