    For the last 13 years Anne has overseen a group who have raised over £100,000 for the charity Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

    She has been key to raising breast cancer awareness in her local community.

    In her nomination, she is described as a "fantastic ambassador" while her "enthusiasm for what her local community can achieve is unwavering".

    Liam Barker has supported fellow sufferers of the rare disorder Sydenham's chorea for seven years.

    He has helped to create a leaflet for young people with the condition, which is available at Yorkhill Hospital in Glasgow.

    It's not difficult to understand why Jim is well respected in his local community.

    For the last 35 years, he has been playing and coaching badminton around Aberdeenshire schools. Jim is described as "a well-loved coach and well-known both locally and nationally".

    The people who nominated him say they are amazed by the number of young people he has introduced to the sport.

    The village has its very own sporting connection - it's famous for the Oldmeldrum Sports and Highland Games.

    The event was founded in 1930 and will celebrate its 85th anniversary next year.

    Mozambique relay

    Every area in Scotland has been twinned with at least one 'second team' to support at Glasgow 2014. Back in February, the baton travelled through Mozambique where these students showed their support for Aberdeenshire.

    Those in Aberdeenshire can also cheer on their other second team Antigua.

    When Doug lost his arm from cancer 17 years ago, he rebuffed the idea that the amputation would control his life. He's completed three London Marathons and became the first amputee to cycle around the UK.

    Pat has promoted Scottish country dancing in the village of Braemar for nearly a decade, and is a founding member of the Castleton Dancers. They've raised£63,000 for community projects in the village.

    The current baton-bearer is Malcolm MacIntyre, who leads Braemar Mountain Rescue's Civilian Team.

    Born in Aberdeen, she's a PE teacher, and has captained the Scottish Thistles and Glasgow Wildcat teams.

    We're now Inverurie where Warren Burgess has been handed the baton.

    As a volunteer, Warren has both developed and supported Aboyne's local youth sporting activities for many years.

    Now in his 50s, he has fought and beaten cancer, yet continues to give his time to raising thousands of pounds for urological cancer charity UCAN and other charities.

    We're in Port Elphinstone, and there to greet the baton is Rod MacInnes.

    After taking early retirement from the police force, Rod put his efforts in to chairing his local running club.

    The number of members at the Garioch Road Runners has increased by 25% since Rod has taken on the chairman role.

    He invests a lot of his own time encouraging and motivating each club member, as well as organising and hosting weekly sessions which cater for everyone's ability.
