    Jo runs a not for profit organisation called Handmade Arts which delivers art and craft classes to children and pensioners. She is chairperson of Glasgow-based environmental charity Urban Roots, and is also involved in Classrooms for Malawi, which funds education in Africa.

    Nancy worked as a teacher and head teacher in some of the most deprived areas of Glasgow. Nancy also volunteered her time to work as part of the Blackhill Drugs Group. A keen country dancer, she has recently taken up ballet.

    Thomas Patterson, who ran a little earlier, certainly looked as though he enjoyed his stint in the relay.

    Looking good in his kilt, he proudly marched along Shettleston Road taking time out to allow spectators to touch the baton.

    A little girl in the crowd was overheard saying, "Is that the Queen?" as baton bearer Moira Robertson went past.

    We have to admit to thinking that there is more than a passing resemblance between Moira and Her Majesty.

    She is pictured receiving the baton from James McNeil, who looks nothing like Prince Philip.

    The relay has now reached Garrowhill, where John O'Hara is first to carry the baton.

    John worked as a concierge and is now an environmental co-ordinator for Glasgow Housing Association. During his professional career he has prevented suicides, helped a tenant in labour and also reunited families.

    He also runs a charity football team which raises money for vulnerable people in the east end of Glasgow.

    The baton has just set off along Shettleston Road, safe in the hands of John Kuriakose. He's receiving some loud cheers from the large East End crowd.

    The baton made a special appearance at last night's concert Live at Edinburgh Castle, which you can now watch on iPlayer.

    The castle welcomed a stellar line up of international acts, including Jessie J, Kaiser Chiefs, Culture Club, Smokey Robinson, Rizzle Kicks, Paloma Faith, Katherine Jenkins, Il Divo, OneRepublic, Alfie Boe, Ella Henderson and Pumeza.

    At the end of the concert former Olympians Gregor Tait and Lee McConnell carried the baton on to the stage, to passing it to Ronnie Corbett.

    BBC Radio Scotland presenter Fred MacAuley then took the baton on behalf of the people of Glasgow, with a promise to "put on a terrific two weeks of sport and sportsmanship".

    He added: "The world will be watching, Scotland will deliver a fantastic show. Good luck to all the participants, especially all the home nations - I know you'll do us proud."

    He says: "Thanks to Greg at Glasgow Caledonian University. He posed for so many pictures. My daughter Sarah and I really enjoyed it, and one of the policemen even gave her a special wrist band of his. Brilliant atmosphere."

    Giulia has volunteered for many years with charity Over The Wall, external, which provides life-changing camps for children with serious illnesses.

    She has also raised a significant amount of money for the organisation, which helped more than 100 children from all over Scotland last year.

    Kyle Dragsnes ran with the baton in Bishopbriggs last night and his family got in touch to say,

    "Congratulations to Kyle!!! He was over the moon to carry the baton yesterday. We are so proud of him especially after everything he has been through with the road accident.

    Derek Todd is posing for pictures with the baton outside the Emirates Arena.

    Derek is passionate about sport, and has been a volunteer within the deaf community for more than 15 years. Those who nominated him say he is "an enthusiastic youth leader who puts everyone's else's needs before his own".

    One of the relay's previous baton bearers, Charles Inglis, has emailed to share his experience of the day.

    Charles says: "I was bearer 35 on day 35 at Clydebank and loved every minute of it. I was at the evening celebrations at Three Queens Square and the reception at the Town Hall, all of which made the day so memorable.

    "Yesterday I followed the baton through Bearsden and Milngavie area where I live, and tomorrow I will follow it through the Jordanhill area where I was born nearly 72 years ago.

    "I can't get enough of the Queen's Baton Relay - roll on the Games."

    Scott organises events to raise awareness and money for local charities, which have collected more than £130,000 in the last three years. He is currently fundraising for CHAS (Children's Hospice Association Scotland) and will be volunteering at Glasgow 2014.
