    Three-quarters of people are unaware being overweight increases the risk of developing 10 different types of cancer, Cancer Research UK has said.

    It said the lack of understanding was "concerning" and criticised the government for its failed attempt to tackle childhood obesity.

    Bowel, kidney, breast and womb cancer are most commonly linked to obesity.

    Public Health England said it was working with the food industry to reduce sugar in its products.

    There is evidence to show that carrying too much weight increases the risk of developing cancers, contributing to more than 18,000 cases of cancer each year in the UK.

    Conservative MSP Donald Cameron begins the debate by thanking Cancer Research UK for providing the impetus for this debate ahead of World Cancer Day.

    Mr Cameron says one in every two people are estimated to receive a cancer diagnosis in their life.

    He says Cancer Research UK, external highlights that four-in-ten cancers are preventable and that obesity, after smoking, is the single biggest cause of preventable cancer in Scotland.

    He says obesity  is linked to 13 types of cancer and figures show that two thirds of adults and over one quarter of children in Scotland are now overweight or obese.

    Labour MSP Neil Bibby says passengers are fed up with the level of delays, cancellations and skip stopping.

    Mr Bibby says passenger satisfaction is at a 14 year low and targets continue to be missed and the ScotRail chief is leaving after just 18 months.

    He asks if Scotrail will hit the target of 93% by March.

    Mr Yousaf says it must be depressing to live in the mind of Neil Bibby where everything is going wrong.

    The transport minister says there have already been improvements in the moving annual average performance level up to 90.3%.

    He says ultimately ScotRail could lose the franchise if it does not meet its targets, but he does not see it getting to that.
