    Greens MSP Ross Greer says the rights of EU migrants are not assured.

    Mr Greer says the course being set in Westminster could not be further that the views of the Scottish Parliament in the main.

    The Greens MSP says the UK government's white paper is hardly a white paper at all. 

    Mr Greer says the UK Brexit minister does not even have faith in his own government's Trade Union Bill and therefore the Scottish Parliament cannot have any faith in the UK government protecting worker's rights.

    Green MSP Ross Greer says it is with some disappointment, but no surprise at all, that the PM has again failed to guarantee the future of EU citizens and take them of the negotiating table.

    Mr Greer says his party have called for the UK to remain in the single market.

    He says Scotland voted convincingly to stay in the EU.

    The Green MSP says the prime minister did not even wait for the Welsh proposals before outlining her vision of Brexit. 

    Mr Greer says that is only one rease why the party cannot support the activation of Article 50.

    Mr Macdonald says the UK government should consult with the Scottish government in a meaningful way and the Scottish government should do likewise.

    The Labour MSP says the Scottish Parliament has no veto on Article 50 but should speak up nevertheless. 

    He says the prime minister should follow the advice of the European committee and provide clarity to European citizens.

    Jeremy Corbyn has ordered Labour MPs to back the government's Brexit bill in its final Commons stage on Wednesday.

    The party leader's imposition of a three-line whip - the toughest sanction available - means any shadow minister wanting to rebel could have to resign.

    Thirteen Labour frontbenchers voted against Mr Corbyn's orders last week, while shadow home secretary Diane Abbot did not vote, citing a migraine.

    But MPs overwhelmingly backed the European Union Bill last Wednesday.

    The next stage of voting, on Wednesday, follows three further days of more detailed debate, with the Commons looking at amendments proposed by MPs.

    Mr Lamont says in the run up to the independence referendum it was the SNP that threatened EU national's right to remain in Scotland.

    SNP MSP Stewart Stevenson asks if the Scottish government was wrong to publish its compromise views and he he asks for an example of any change the government has made.
