All 32 councils in Scotland declare their results in full
The SNP is the overall winning party but the Conservatives did well - gaining seats in areas where they had no previous track record
Every mainland council is now in "no overall control" meaning coalitions and minority rule will follow
Labour lose control of Glasgow City Council leaving the SNP as the biggest single party
A total of 1,227 seats were contested across 353 wards

Former SNP MSP Duncan Hamilton says there is marginal disappointment, perhaps, that the SNP did not get an overall majority in Glasgow, but stresses the SNP has got the most votes and seats across Scotland.
Mr Hamilton says: "It is on any view a victory for the SNP."
He says the story of the election in Scotland is the loss of Labour votes to the Tories.

Tory MSP Adam Tomkins says the Conservative gains have largely come from Labour.
Mr Tomkins says there are now eight Tory councillors in Glasgow, up seven from one.
He says there is no "no-go area" in Scotland for the Conservatives.
Former Labour MP Tom Harris says he thinks the Greens will go into coalition with the SNP in Glasgow without any hesitation.
Mr Harris says for Labour to have retreated "to a fairly firm base" and says this is "a little bit of a silver lining, but of course it is a dark cloud".

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon says the "SNP has won this election, we've got more votes, more seats" and says it is a "clear and emphatic victory for the SNP".
Ms Sturgeon says: "We are the largest party in all of Scotland's four biggest cities".
She says the SNP have ended 40 years of Labour control of Glasgow City Council.
The first minister says: "This is a fantastic victory."
She adds that the Tory gains have come from Labour who face some "soul searching" after this election.
The SNP has become the largest in 18 of Scotland's 32 council areas.

Ms Sturgeon says: "That is a pretty clear and emphatic win."

Labour's John McDonnell says the election result shows the SNP surge has come to a halt and is evidence of the rejection of another independence referendum.

SNP biggest party as Labour drop badly
The SNP has become the biggest party in Scotland's largest council for the first time, as Labour slumped in Glasgow City Council.
The SNP now has 39 seats while Labour, which had an overall majority before the election, dropped to 31.
The Conservatives, who previously only had one seat, won eight; the Lib Dems lost the only seat they had in 2012 and the Greens increased their tally to seven.
Note: The 2012 election saw 79 seats contested. Following boundary changes, the 2017 election had 85 seats up for grabs.
The Conservatives have become the largest party in six of Scotland's 32 council areas.
In Stirling the Tories and the SNP both had nine seats.

Tories gain on SNP
The Conservatives gained five seats to end up just one behind the SNP on Moray Council.
The SNP went down from 10 to nine. Independents went down from 10 to eight.
Labour lost two seats to go from three to one.
The council administration had been run by an Independent/Conservative coalition.
Scottish Labour Leader Kezia Dugdale says the Tories gain in Shettleston is down to "constitutional politics" rather than people having faith in the party's plans for public services.
Ms Dugdale is still hopeful that Labour can make progress in the General Election saying it will come to the fore to reject another independence referendum and focus on the "bread and butter issues".
"Labour will do what it has always done and represent the many and not the few," she added.
SNP become biggest party as Labour slump
The SNP are now the largest party on North Lanarkshire Council, an area where Labour had an overall majority before the election.
The SNP tally stands at 33 and Labour is one behind at 32.
The Conservatives went from zero to 10 seats in a council region where they have not succeeded for years.
Note: The 2012 election saw 70 seats being contested. Following boundary changes, the 2017 election had 77 seats up for grabs.

Just three of Scotland's councils now have Labour as the largest party - East Lothian, Inverclyde and Midlothian.

Scottish Labour leader Kezia Dugdale says the local election results are a disappointment for her party.
She says Labour are still topping the tables in four areas across the country.
Ms Dugdale adds that "we have seen the constitution bite" again, with Yes versus No and a "clear rejection the length and breadth of the country of Nicola Sturgeon's plans for a second independence referendum".
She says the Glasgow result is disappointing for the SNP as the nationalists will not get an overall majority.

SNP biggest party as Labour lose big and Tories gain
The SNP has become the largest party on South Lanarkshire Council having won 27 seats.
Labour fell back to 22 and the Conservatives ended on the up with 14 seats.
Note: The 2012 election saw 67 seats contested. Following boundary changes, the 2017 election had 64 seats up for grabs.
