Ms Sturgeon says on the basis of Ms Baillie's performance it is no wonder Labour are going through people at the despatch box at the rate they are.

Ms Baillies says to end austerity more than £800m must be raised in the next two years.

She says the Scottish government proposals will lead to a maximum of £290m which leaves a "black hole" in the budget.

The first minister says: "Labour seems mired in confusion in this debate."

She says Labour's proposals don't come close to £800.

Ms Sturgeon says the public sector pay policy will be revealed in the budget, but she says she wants to see a fair deal.

    nicola sturgeonImage source, bbc

Ms Sturgeon says the Tory proposal is to give a tax cut to the top 10% earners, which would take £140m out of public services.

The Scottish Conservative leader says "despite the attempted distortions", the reason the Tories support a competitive tax system is to boost the economy.

She says Scotland is lagging behind on the economy and calls for a debate about boosting economic growth.

The first minister says one of the illustrative options in the paper would reduce tax for those on the lowest income.

Ms Sturgeon says it is of central importance to support the growth of the economy, however she says Ms Davidson's tax proposal would take out £140m from the budget.
