  4. 'Cameron will have to go'published at 04:32 British Summer Time 24 June 2016

Head of Cardiff University's Wales Governance Centre, Prof Richard Wyn Jones, says Prime Minister David Cameron will have to go if Leave wins.

"Here is a man who has called a referendum, said it would be a disaster if we left. He has used apocalyptic language - has exaggerated possibly.

"But he has said this publicly, he can't take those words back. If the population has gone against him, I think he has to go - he has no credibility."

  8. Unexpected results to come?published at 04:14 British Summer Time 24 June 2016

Two Welsh areas represented by Conservatives in Westminster have voted Remain - Monmouthshire and the Vale of Glamorgan.

Vaughan Roderick says he would have expected them to vote Leave and the results raise questions about wealthy Conservative voters and whether people are voting based on what they have to lose (or not as the case may be) rather than along party lines.

"Are we seeing traditional Labour voters who feel they haven't had fair play, that the system has let them down, deciding they might as well vote Leave? While people who have pensions, shares, who go on holiday on the continent vote Remain?

"And there, there might be a glimmer of hope for Remain - you'd have to say Leave is the favourite to win at the moment - but there are many counties yet to come in England, especially in the south west, counties which we would taken for granted would be Leave strongholds.

"These are socially similar to Monmouthshire, to a lesser extent the Vale of Glamorgan. So perhaps the story isn't quite over - while Leave are favourites, there may be unexpected results to come."

    Vaughan Roderick
