He wonders whether Conservatives are more supportive of Remain and Labour supporters a little less inclined towards Remain than had been expected.

  4. Baroness Morgan: It's been hardpublished at 00:56 British Summer Time 24 June 2016

Former Labour MEP and Remain campaigner, Baroness Eluned Morgan AM, tells S4C: "It's early days, but it's a bit disappointing compared to where we hoped to be, but we've only had a very few results.

Reflecting on the campaign, she said: "It's been very hard.

"It's been hard to get our troops out after the assembly election campaign, but what we found was if we had time with people, we could persuade them that Wales would be better off staying in.

"We haven't had the opportunity to see enough of them over the last few weeks.

"But I was feeling that things were starting to change."

  6. Campaign 'began too early'published at 00:51 British Summer Time 24 June 2016

Wales Stronger in Europe Chairman Geraint Talfan Davies has told S4C's results programme that having the Welsh assembly election at the same time as the beginning of the referendum campaign was a problem.

He said a lot of party workers were tired after May 5th and it took them time to catch their breath and get going again.

But he added that by the last few weeks, things had improved considerably.

Referring to interventions such as US President Barack Obama's call for a Remain vote, he said: "You could argue the campaign began too early,"

"There was a feeling that a lot of things which attracted headlines had happened very early..."

  14. Pro-EU myth 'dispelled entirely'published at 23:54 British Summer Time 23 June 2016

While not predicting the result, Andrew RT Davies, Welsh Conservative leader and Leave campaigner, says: "The most remarkable thing about this campaign is that despite having employed the full weight of the establishment's machine, it does seem that this campaign is going right to the wire.

"That in itself is a huge achievement and sends a strong message.

"Here in Wales it does also seem that the long perpetuated myth that Wales is firmly pro-EU has been dispelled entirely."

    Andrew RT Davies
  15. Leave 'might win Wales'published at 23:49 British Summer Time 23 June 2016

Former Welsh Secretary David Jones, who led Vote Leave Cymru, says: "We might win Wales".

He tells Mark Hutchings of BBC Radio 5 live there is a strong possibility Wales might be the only UK nation with a Leave majority.

Mr Jones's name does not appear on a letter signed by pro-Brexit Tory MPs pledging their continued loyalty to David Cameron despite their differences over Europe.

  16. 'Deep feeling of disappointment'published at 23:47 British Summer Time 23 June 2016

Remain campaigner and former director of BT Wales Ann Beynon says the campaign highlighted "a grassroots feeling of disillusionment, alienation from the political process - and a disappointment in all sorts of authorities".

"What we have here is a vote of disappointment, which is very sad - but we have to realise it's a real feeling," she told BBC Wales' results programme on S4C.

"So what we have to do when things have quietened down is think about what the answer is, to try and deal with that deep feeling of disappointment in our post-industrial communities."

Cathy Owens, a former special advisor to the Welsh Government who has campaigned for Remain, says it had been "the most awful campaigning experience".
